You're also just a 10-minute drive to Burton Creek State Park, which offers 2,000 acres of untouched terrain with cross-country skiing trails. In the warmer months, spend your days hiking nearby trails or relaxing on Patton Beach just an eight-minute stroll. Mountain biking trails and Forest Conservation Land trails are within close proximity. Drive the same distance to Waterman's Landing, a beachfront cafe offering kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals and lessons. THINGS TO KNOW Outdoor wood-burning fires and charcoal grills are prohibited per local ordinances. The bunkhouse does not have an attached bathroom. The house is clean, walking distance to the beach, pet friendly, and has a nice deck with a great hot tub. Shuffle board was surprisingly a hit and we had a family tournament every evening. The kids stayed in the bunk room, and felt like they could be at a sleep away camp while the adults could adult in the main house. The kitchen and barbecue were perfect for entertaining and making some really great meals, and the spa was perfect for looking at stars and relaxing. Liked the location very much. There were some issues. First, the WiFi password in the listing is not correct and VACASA was unable to find the correct password. But the house rules book, in the house, has the correct WiFi password. Look for that. The house is two story with all the bedrooms downstairs. For us older folks, my wife and I are in our 70's, that was more stair climbing that we wanted. The upstairs of the house gets very warm during the day. Running fans and opening doors and windows helped. Ceiling fans would have been better. That said, we saw very few insects so leaving doors and windows (some don't have screens) open was not an issue. The deck, in places, has nails that are coming up. Watch out for that. If you stand outside at the front door and turn left to go around the deck you will see two sheets of metal flashing nailed to the deck. Two of the edges are coming up. You wouldn't want to step on them in bare feet. I sent a picture of this to VACASA. The unit with the pool table and bunk beds was unavailable to us because it had failed a fire inspection. While we were there a man from a landscaping company came by to look at it. He hadn't seen the fire Marshall's report, so wasn't certain what was wrong, but he speculated that there was too much foliage or pine needles near the structure. He was going to investigate and attempt to fix the issues. Plenty of laundry soap and dryer sheets available. Only one packet of dishwasher soap. We bought more and left them there. The hand soap at every sink except the master bedroom was hidden and needed to be refilled. There are shelves in the small kitchen but no cupboards with doors. If you bring food and a dog be sure to store the food in the shelves above the counters. On the positive side, the property is very near the lake and several beaches. The house is surrounded by other homes, but with the trees, we could sometimes hear the neighbors but not see them. ##### Richard P. Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a group of 12 girls stay at this home. There was plenty of space to lounge and dine- indoor and out. We loved the location- approx 10 mins to Kings Beach and 15 mins to Tahoe City where we floated the Truckee River. The house was very clean and well kept. It was pretty well stocked with towels and dishes but was missing some key cookware and dishes (not enough coffee mugs), but we were able to make it work. While there were enough beds for everyone using the external guesthouse, I was disappointed that the guesthouse had no windows which made it quite warm and stuffy or bathroom which meant we had to leave the house unlocked all evening (this wasn't a huge deal to us since the neighborhood felt so safe). It's a great room for young adults or teens, but since it was not attached to the house and didn't have a bathroom I couldn't see anyone putting young children in there. Even as adults, we played musical beds so that no one had to stay in that room the entire weekend since it was so stuffy and a little stinky. ##### Lauren T. The beds were very comfy, hot tub was awesome, and shuffle board and pool table were great fun. The only reason why o gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is bc the heater in the Cubhouse didn’t work, so I had to contact the property manager. He got right back to me then sent out someone to fix the heater while we were out for the evening. Though they weren’t able to fix the heater, they left 2 very effective space heaters, so the issue was totally taken care of. They even offered to come out and fix the heater the next day, but since the space heaters were working, I requested they wait until our stay was over. They obliged. I highly recommend this fun place with a treehouse feel and all the amenities and coziness of home. ##### Molly A. This house was so much fun for us and the kids. There were plenty of activities nearby and so many places for everyone to sleep. The view was amazing. It was quiet and peaceful but still we were never bored. The owners took care of all our needs and were very fair and helpful. This time we stayed in the summer, the house is walking distance to the lake. Great back yard filled with games, lovely deck. Super clean and comfortable house in a nice quiet location. We were there with a couple of friends and, of course, the kiddos. Kids loved it as they had opportunities to explore around the property and living room area was great for everyone when we were hanging around the house. Location is within striking distance to a variety of activities. Honestly, this was a much needed vacation and this place delivered everything we were hoping for and more... Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a group of 12 girls stay at this home. There was plenty of space to lounge and dine- indoor and out. We loved the location- approx 10 mins to Kings Beach and 15 mins to Tahoe City where we floated the Truckee River. The house was very clean and well kept. It was pretty well stocked with towels and dishes but was missing some key cookware and dishes (not enough coffee mugs), but we were able to make it work. While there were enough beds for everyone using the external guesthouse, I was disappointed that the guesthouse had no windows which made it quite warm and stuffy or bathroom which meant we had to leave the house unlocked all evening (this wasn't a huge deal to us since the neighborhood felt so safe). It's a great room for young adults or teens, but since it was not attached to the house and didn't have a bathroom I couldn't see anyone putting young children in there. Even as adults, we played musical beds so that no one had to stay in that room the entire weekend since it was so stuffy and a little stinky. ##### Lauren T. We had a large group of adults and teens. There is a detached room that has 6 twin beds, games and pool table were the teens stayed. We didn't even remember they were with us to say the least. The main house was so warm and cozy with all the comforts of home. Wood burning fireplace, shuffle board, games and large hot tub. We were minutes from Northstar, Incline Village, Casinos and walking distance to Kings Beach. Wether it's winter-spring-summer-fall there is so much to do in such a short distance. We were there for for 6 nights and 7 days and never ran out of things to do, nor was there anything that this cabin did not supply. We will definitely be renting again. ---
