    4/5 Good

    Nice hotel, good location.

The hotel was quite well located - just a few minutes walk to London Road, where we got a bus into (and from) Carlisle city centre. Free parking was a bonus. There was a large bar, but we didn’t use it. The hotel seemed a little tired, curtains and tie backs in the room reminded me of the 90s. Average sized room, with very small TV. There was a leisure Centre with, what looked like, a well-equipped gym, which again we didn’t use. It suited our purpose, which was a base in Carlisle and it was clean. We got it at a great price and I’d book it again.

    4/5 Good

    Good value for the price.

I must be honest, I only booked one night because of the terrible reviews but after I’d settled in I booked my second night. It isn’t luxurious, but on a cold night it was nice and warm. The furniture and carpet look a bit shabby, but it’s clean. The shower gel is in a bottle stuck to the wall, but the water was really hot and plentiful. The breakfast I wouldn’t recommend. It was ok - cooked to order and big! But lack of hot chocolate or herbal tea, and nothing beyond cereal and toast for the buffet put me off booking it on my second night. Bottom line - cheap and cheerful, and I would definitely return if travelling on a budget.

Good views, shame about the furniture.

A little difficult to find, drove past it first and then parked in neighbouring companies car park before spotting the hotel. There was a lift at the hotel but guests were not allowed to use it. Instead had to climb to the 2nd floor to access the room. The room was fairly large and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The downside was the large cobweb which went from the top of the picture above the bed to the ceiling. Old and dated dark furniture made the room look worse than it was. For the price it was ok but don't thin we will stay here again.
