We stay here quite often, car park onsite which is good value. Central location. Room lovely and spacious. Bed and pillows were a little hard but always bring my own pillow! Will definitely stay again.

The shower’s water pressure was really bad. Housekeeping annoyingly woke me up by knocking on my door on the day I was checking out. Surely they should have a list of people who have checked out already? Other than that it was a good stay. Good location and price.

The plug sockets were hanging off the wall and sparking … shower was broken, bed sheets with blood on, dirty black mould on bath and windows. Freezing room which took over 2 hours to warm The list goes on - I will never use this property again, it was beyond acceptable and I’m a generally very easygoing person and not that fussy but these absolutely dehumanising standards… I am stunned that Expedia even allow this on their supposed good standard website

Great value on a spacious room with a view. *****
...I chose this hotel (vs others in a similar price range) for a clean, spacious room with a bit of a view (upper floors, for a little xtra money) and a friendly and helpful staff and the Citrus delivered, so it was a great value-play for me, absolutely!!! Thanks, Citrus, see you next time. *****

Worn down, poor staff.
Started stay in room 1008, couldn't remember if I booked breakfast - I was told no. First night fine in a worn down, decaying room but slept well. In the morning shower floods within minutes, advise reception they need to send someone to fix and provide fresh towels. Return to find shower is filthy, damp towels have been left all day and no new towels to replace them. Another trip to reception and offer me a complimentory breakfast. They who move me to room 1007, stains all over floor(suspicious brown colour), damaged plug sockets with cracks in and just in general poor state. Next morning upon checkout I get my invoice which included breakfast!! I know I forgot but they told me I didn't have it, and then offered it as compensation. All In all you get what you pay for but this place was disgusting!

Check in was fast, easy and staff were great. I was on the 10th floor and the lift was so slow. Theres a faint smokey odour on the floor and it lingered in my room for a bit. You can see theyve tried to tidy the place up, new paint, new bathroom and plug sockets with usbs but it still felt quite tired. You could feel the king size bed was just 2 bed pushed together and i couldn't find the tv remote. One side the windows were grayed out so you couldn't see out and none of the windows were openable. They put a fan and 2 heaters in the room so i would guess the temperature varies a lot in there. The breakfast was ok, very basic. There was sausages, bacon, scrambled egg and beans as the hot option. For a budget hotel it was fine. But i wish id paid the extra £20 and stayed at a different hotel!

Great start being able to park on site , easy access to city centre . Room felt dirty and unloved, massive gap under door which meant hallway light invaded the room , no service to room carried out during our stay had to go to reception to ask for basics...i e toilet roll , coffee etc which reception staff seemed embarrassed but aided with our needs .

Stayed twice in 3 days. 408 and then 508. Dated room in 408 but warm and tv you could actually watch. 508 had no heating. Extra heater in the room also didn’t work. Tv in a corner where it couldn’t really be watched.

Cardiff Half Marathon weekend.
Stayed for couple nights as a base to explore Cardiff. Conveniently close to the city centre, bus and trains stops to explore the other parts of the city. The hotel facilities are run down including the rooms. Carpets are a bit dirty. Stayed in 2 different bedrooms, they were both run down. One in a lower level, a bit outdated, namely parts of the walls and furniture. Also despite having big windows and plenty of light coming in, the windows don't open not allowing fresh air in and getting stuck with the stuffy air. The air in the corridors is even more stuffy, it seems its either lacking proper ventilation or it is turned off. The room in the top floor had signs of modernization but still worn down. Air was not as stuffy in the upper floors. The property shows its age and in need of an overdue overall. Perhaps that's the reason prices are lower compared to other 3* hotels.
