A good hotel for traveling on a budget. The staff was friendly and helpful in a special request while there. It was a busy time in Carbondale but they handled it with professionalism and good grace.

We have stayed here several times. I would never leave a negative review for there. I get it’s an older not the newest hotel in the area. But for the price and location. It’s perfect, always clean and always a friendly staff. Will continue to stay there, when we go to Carbondale.

They advertise breakfast 6 am - 9 am. I Don't consider coffee, juice, 4 pieces of bread, 4 muffins, 4 yogurt breakfast for the entire hotel. The whole breakfast area was DIRTY, including the tables and chairs. The kid behind the counter just played on his phone. When a guest spilled his coffee on the floor, the kid behind the counter didn't even clean it up, he called someone else. Plus, it snowed during the night, they never cleaned the snow off or put down any salt. Making it dangerous for all the guests, especially for the handicapped guests. The only person who ever acknowledged us was the young lady who checked us in the night before! Plus, the loud music they play continously and loud conversations on their computer was very disrespectful!! I did not feel welcomed as a customer and all this was not a good way to start my day. They gave me the impression they just don't care. We will NOT be staying here again!!

Don't stay here! Disgusting!
This place reeked of Marijuana so bad upon arrival. The room was absolutely disgusting and in terrible shape. Half the stuff in the room was BROKEN (lamp shade broken and hanging, table leg broke off and leaning against another wall, bathroom door hanging from hinges (had to lift door to shut) remote turned tv on but channel buttons were broke) There was goop hanging from the ceiling and stains/filth on the walls, holes in the walls, stains on the sheets...it was so gross that my husband and son didn't even eat the breakfast! They said it was the worst hotel room they've ever stayed in and only stayed because they checked in so late and had to be up early for a tournament.

Beware!
We stayed one night. The FIRST room, keypad didn't work, second had no bedding, yellow stains on bed and smelled of cat pee & chemicals. Third, sink was stopped up, but we were hours from home and exhausted so stayed. We shouldn't have. We then found out the man lied and charged us more than agreed on for pet fee. He also lied about the swimming pool being open. Those were only two reasons we came there. When I complained he yelled and said he hated Americans and that I was a liar. Whatever. Went to make dinner and microwave was broken. Went back down and told them and was told that they couldn't replace it bc they didn't have any in any empty rooms that worked. Oh and we found sink didn't drain. Only reason we stayed first night was bc our car was broke down. The morning we woke up there my daughter and I were covered in bites. They were infested with bed bugs! So we immediately packed up and asked for a refund. He kept $140 , even though they room was advertised for $58 a night. But wouldn't give us more and we weren't staying there to get ate by bugs. Our car was still broke down so we walked next door to Best Western and stayed. We had zero problems there and they were awesome,even washed and dried all our clothes bc of us being scared bed bugs were in them from the "quality" inn. Do not stay at this place. I ignored the reviews bc it was cheap. It's not worth it. I tried to save some money and got screwed big time. If you choose to stay you'll regret it. I did.

No quality at the Quality Inn
The whole place reeks of cigarette smoke despite being non smoking. The walls and floors were filthy. The first room we had the heat was inoperable and the outlet it was plugged into visibly fried out, which is obviously a fire hazard. The second room was had dirty walls, a toilet paper dispenser literally hanging out of the wall, and plastic covers on the mattress, I don’t even want to know what that was hiding. The ice maker was broken, all vending machines out of order, and over an all uncleanliness about the place. The only thing Quality about this place was in the name. We will definitely not be staying here ever again.

Good stay
I was very happy with our stay. My husband and I came for one night. It was a cheap hotel so I wasn’t expecting much but the guy at the front was nice, our room was clean, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet there. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is extremely dirty. There were crumbs all over the floor. The blankets and sheets were dirty. It smells like stale cigarettes. The toilet paper holder was hanging halfway out of the wall. There is no security. The locks on the exterior doors are broken. Random people were wandering the halls in the middle of the night, knocking on doors, trying to buy and sell drugs. It's dirty and dangerous. Don't stay there.

Definitely got what I paid for with this one. Only thing good about my stay is that it was for one night only and the mattress was comfortable. The door did not shut tight could open it with a knife. Floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed, window seal was full of bugs, linen looked dirty, bathroom needs updating, had holes in the wall from the towel rack falling off, hair dryer did not work, refrigerator made a knocking sound all night long even though it was turned off. Garbage overflowing in hall by stairwell. Looks as though they have long term residents. Guest walked the halls and talked very loud all night long, music blasting. Would not recommend.

Property was fine, honestly the only thing that made it horrible were the other people staying there. Smelled like weed constantly and you can hear every other person that goes by your door or runs above your room. Breakfast options weren't bad for what you're paying for.

Worst night ever!!!
Make the reservation for this hotel because it had indoor pool. Pool was out order. Guest next door was being to loud in the middle of the night, playing music too loud and smoking in a non smoking room. All the nasty smell was going into our room.

Unsafe, Unclean, Unpleasant "UN"Quality Inn
From the moment we walked in to check in, our noses were filled with smoke. A group of the receptionist's friends were "hanging out" in the lobby. The receptionist was quiet, hard to understand, and had poor communication skills. The lobby looked like it had maybe at some point begun some updates, but then stopped, because it looked under construction. We were told the card was "declined," which was not possible, then he asked me to confirm the number, and it was wrong. It was run under the previous person checking in. We were then given our room keys without explanation of where to go, park, etc. The back entrance to the hotel was broken and not secured at all. Homeless people were living/sleeping next to the hotel's back entrance. When entering the hotel, it was immediately noticed how unclean, out of date, and smelly this experience was going to be. The hotel is supposed to be smoke free, but clearly it is NOT! The TV did not work at all. We were not given any information about WIFI. I was leery to even try to use it, anyway. The room was very outdated and dirty. Stains were found on the walls, sheets, and furniture. We could hear neighbors. We paid and booked (nonrefundable) the hotel for 2 nights, but immediately left in the morning after getting ready, not to return for our second night. This hotel stay created extremely uncomfortable, unsafe, and dirty feelings. None of us felt good at all about it. We left feeling like we reeked of smoke and filth! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Homecoming Visit to Carbondale
I have always enjoyed my stays at the Quality Inn of Carbondale. A quality stay, at an affordable price. The staff is warm, welcoming, and responsive. The 24 hour free coffee is good as is the early morning selection of breakfast juices; have as much as you want. The Quality Inn is conveniently located near a Kroger store, so it's easy to pick up some munchies and beer! Restaurants are located within walking distance. The Saluki Express bus service stops nearby at the Kroger and across the highway at Walmart, so if you came by train, you have another way besides driving to get around.

Had to Ask for clean sheets for both beds and tv remote didn’t work for tv .gentlemen stated he’d be back to fix and never came back another gentleman came at 7am and by 730 had tv and remote working big deal we where leaving. Staff was nice and friendly. Hotel was not clean. Sheets were dirty, phone didn’t work or clock. Fridge was nasty. Just not clean I felt dirty showering there

Front desk staff was nice when the TV wasn’t working, but you get what you pay for. It wasn’t very clean and it was run down. It was convenient for what we needed, but wouldn’t stay there again.

DO NOT stay at this hotel.
It was the worst hotel experience I ever had. When I asked to have a different room because of the smoke smell, I was handed a can of febreze. That was the start of how horrible it was.
dirty head broad, so gross.
Shower mold. So gross
Dirty towels in the bathroom which also included other people trash in the bin.

Comfortable in Carbondale
Priced right with good service and comfortable rooms... I was greeted at the front desk promptly. The room that I saw and reserved on the internet was the one I got. The outside of the property is well kept; the inside appears to be in a process of being updated. I didn't visit the pool area, but passed by the workout room. It had several pieces of equipment available for use. The hallways were clean and so was my room. No, it wasn't spotless, but was well kept. The bed was comfortable and all electronics worked perfectly. The employees were polite and friendly. The hot breakfast on Saturday morning was really good. Pets are allowed, so if you have allergies you may want to inquire about special room availability. I will stay with this hotel again.
