"A conveniently located hotel"
First, I must say that I stayed at the Admiralty Inn during the Cape's off season. So, the Inn was in the middle of some major work. The indoor pool was closed for updating. They are having solar panels installed, so there were signs of construction going on all over (parking lot dug up, piles of materials in hallway and parking lot, etc.).
That being said, the Admiralty Inn is a comfortable, but older, quirky hotel....
Location: The Admiralty Inn is conveniently located on Route 28, Falmouth's main drag. LOTS of shopping all around: grocery, discount, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. On the edge of the tourist area. Far enough from the beach that you would have to drive there.
Overall condition: The Admiralty Inn is an older hotel that is in the middle of a facelift. The carpeting looked new. Paint looked pretty fresh. However, the furniture and fixtures (tubs, windows, sinks, lamps, curtains, etc.) are tired and worn. There is NO ELEVATOR in the main building.
Room: I stayed in one of the "townhouse suites with spiral stairs". It is spacious and has a "mini-kitchen" (sink, microwave, coffee maker, and fridge). The spiral staircase is a nice touch, but may be dangerous for children or older guests. Beds were on the firmer side.
Breakfast: Adequate "expanded" Continental... Selection of breads, cereals, and juice. Hard boiled eggs and oatmeal. MAKE YOUR OWN WAFFLES!!!!
I enjoyed my 3-day stay with family. Would stay here again, even with the quirks.
