Staff told me I had to pay when I already paid and argued the fact for 10 minutes. TV broken in room. Bath had pubes in it.

The only thing i would suggest is for the tiny tv's to be upgraded to at least a 32 inch size totally brings disappointment to a nice place to stay.

The car park is poorly lit and poorly signed so it was unclear where to park. The corridor to the room smelt of smoke, the room was basic and we found a tooth on the floor. The bathroom towel rail didn't work, the shaving light above the mirror didn't work and the shower was tepid. The walls are so thin I could hear next-door snoring, someone's alarm going off uninterrupted at 4am and another going off from 8am at 10 minute snooze intervals. On the plus side, the 3 staff members we spoke to were pleasant, although no offer of recompense was proffered despite the above feedback directly.

Celebrating a 60th birthday
The hotel was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was cold upon arrival and took awhile to warm up. The bed was comfortable although some softer, fatter pillows would have been nice. The facilities were functional but a little dated. We did enjoy a large, tasty breakfast before leaving. Be aware that breakfast is extra.

Really friendly staff. Being in the winter the weather was chilly and the lady at the reception made sure we had a warm room and even came up to set the heating really warm. The pub and restaurant looked nice though we did not eat out this time.

Peaceful stay
It was just a short (one night) stay but my friend an I totally like everything that the hotel had to offer. The room was very clean including the en-suite. Will surely recommend it.

Decor/facilities in room are a little tired. There were silver fish in the bathroom on the floor. It smelt damp in the bathroom. It was only £60 so I’m not sure you’d get much more for the money. Beds were comfortable and linen was clean and fresh. Chap who checked us in was nice enough.

No early breakfast so had to walk down the road to Sainsbury's to buy continental breakfast food for my room. Noisy guests next to my room talking and laughing till late. Evening meal food in bar was excellent. Male bar person didnt smile. Was told by waiter to help myself to cutlery, so had to go and get it. Saw another waiter go and get the cutlery for other customers.

Check in was just a nightmare.. Needed a passport or driving licence.. Didn’t have either. Had already paid for the room. They took a photocopy of my credit card ( which I insisted on taking the next day).. Said all hotels need identification???? Never been asked before.. Asked if I wanted breakfast I said NO then proceeded to tell me all the breakfast times etc… window handles in the room both broken so couldn’t open the window ( This breaches health and safety for an escape route in an event of a fire).. Clearly not checked???

This is a travel lodge type hotel the photo is misleading its the bar area, there isn't a view from rooms except car park the hotel could do with an update its used by contractors for stays during the week the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful our rooms didn't get cleaned as stated if you stayed more than one night for a large room it only had a double bed not king size we cant recommend this hotel

Overall very average. The walls are like cardboard and I was awake late and very early with voices and TV’s from all sides. Not the best stay. Having said that , the staff on reception were very friendly and welcoming.

You pay for what you get
The hotel is pretty dated, but clean. Rooms are small but again clean. Still using keys rather than smart technology to get in and out of the hotel. Reception staff were really friendly as were the staff working in the pub attached to the hotel . Overall all reasonable for the price paid.

No WiFi in the room. The room was unbearably hot. My meal did not arrive from the restaurant. No apology for this. The room is a decent size and Canvey Island is close to Southend-on-Sea.

I wouldn't rush back but we slept well
It served our purpose. The beds were comfy, it was quiet and we got a good nights sleep. The room was clean. What let it down was how tired the room was. The bathroom in particular really needed an overhaul. The bath plug chain had rusted and stained the bath and the sealant was mouldy.

Cob webs in room over the kettle! Had to signed that we would pay £100 if we broke tv I get however tv was worth £15 couldn’t see it so small only about 15inch and it was other side of a large room Restaurant was amazing food was fabulous! Room disappointed me with the lack of cleanliness

Bit disappointed,very noisy during the night, sounded like a generator running all night. The tv was really small. No headboard on the bed, just a piece of painted wood. Light cover was broken by the bed.room The bed wasn’t comfortable either. Wouldn’t stay there again

Will stay again.
First time staying. Had a family room with double bed and two singles. Lovely friendly staff and the room suited our needs. We walked to the beach which took under 20 minutes for a slow Walker. The hotel is surrounded by plenty of shops which is handy too. We will return.
