Located in the heart of the city, with everything close by. Close to most of the restaurants and shopping centers. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Slightly disappointed with the regular cleaning of the room - could have been much better.
We stayed her as were attending a gig nearby and would not of made it home.
We booked 2 nights to make the most of the city.
Initial first impressions were good, upmarket and clean they had building works so we had to access our room via a fire escape!! The room was cosy but functional, the bathroom was basic and it was not totally clean but not to the point we had to complain, it was more dust on skirting boards than dirty toilet.
The bed was very high which was entertaining more than anything! it was sloping but that was down to the old building and floor. The bed was super comfy probably one of the cosiest beds I have slept in at a hotel for a while.
The bar down stairs was so expensive it was good that there was a pub next door and a bar round the corner, I could get a bottle of my drink there for less than a glass in the hotel! £6 for a bailey's coffee !!!
We also had breakfast which was a buffet continental and you could order a full English, this was nice except I am still waiting for the ketchup despite asking two different members of staff!!
It is a fantastic location to view the sites and shop, our gig was at the cricket ground which was around a 20 min walk so that saved the hassle of paying for cabs etc.
We stayed at the Woolpack for the first leg of our honeymoon journey and had a fantastic time. The rooms are very comfortable, the food at the pub is excellent, and the staff is very nice - they really went above and beyond to accommodate us. We were very pleased with our decision to stay outside of Canterbury as the town of Chilham had such lovely walks!
They have a lovely garden to sit in, and the staff were wonderful. Parking is on a first come first serve basis, though. And we had to park on the street. Other than that, no complaints. Would reccomend.
This ancient city lies on the River Stour, where visitors can enjoy a tranquil riverboat tour of the town which is home to a host of World Heritage Sites. Having survived the bombings of WWII, the magnificent cathedral has a spectacular history and offers audio and guided tours for visitors wanting to learn more about the area's fascinating past.
