"Excellent city centre tranquility. "
Stayed for a mid-week 2 night break. Location is brilliant but you must pre-book the onsite parking. Room was compact but perfectly suitable (we prefer a king size bed but has forfeited this for the location). Loved the cathedral view and walking back from our meal in town at 10pm we enjoyed sitting in the grounds with no-one around. Very special. Breakfast was great and the fact that we had access to the cathedral for 3 days made the hotel even more reasonably priced.

"Lovely accommodation in a Delightful Village"
Very comfortable stay, room large and well appointed, bed firm and good size. En suite was o.k. the bath was quite high to get in and out of, could prove difficult for the less agile ! Towels good size and excellent quality We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the evening, the crab and prawn cakes were the best we have ever had and the Kent lamb was cooked to perfection. The Pie of the day was delicious and was again well cooked and presented with a lovely selection of vegetables. Breakfast was cooked to order and was served with a smile, in fact all the staff were very good and nothing was too much trouble, we would have been more than happy to have stayed longer and hopefully we may do so sometime in the future. Well done to R and C !

"Idyllic village pub"
Stayed here for my graduation and it was so lovely. We got shown up to our rooms immediately and everything is set out helpfully in the visitor's guide. The rooms we were in were lovely (blue and green). They aren't great for a view but that didn't matter. Only slight issue was how loud things going on outside or below were through my window, but that was only during the day/early evening. Downstairs in the pub is perfect. The cosiest little pub with nooks and armchairs and hops edging the ceilings. Really lovely homely atmosphere - moreso than my local! The food is excellent. First place I've been to that actually serves the right sized portions. Also the first place where I've liked the salad dressing. The location is really lovely. Went for a post-tea walk and saw the lovely churchyard and some excellent old architecture. Plus it's only 15 minutes from Canterbury so it is just the ideal place to stay if you don't like lifeless chain hotels or noisy places.

"Great overnight stay... Wish we had longer"
The staff were very warm and accomodating. Ready for a chat more then happy to help however they could. Really old place but considering this and the squeaky floors.... It was very nice. Would highly recommend if u want to stay somewhere with character and charm. It is above a pub/bar but was very quiet.

"Very relaxed atmosphere"
The room was advertised as having an 'en suite' bathroom. There was only a shower. This should be made clear in the hotel information, as this would influence my decision to book a room. My room was very small and overlooked a courtyard and some houses. There was a privacy issue with the room having a large window with only a blind for cover. The staff were friendly and mostly attentive. The food served was well prepared and reasonably priced. With the minor reservations above, I felt it was good value for money.

"Great location, clean room and kind staff"
What I didn't know when I was booking this place was that guests had to check in at a sister hotel which is about 10 minutes away on foot near the castle. There is no reception in this hotel. But the staff members at both hotels were very helpful and friendly. I got a lift to the Peregrine house from the check in and there were two breakfast options; continental breakfast at the Peregrine or cooked breakfast at the sister hotel. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.
