The Taj Aguda has fabulous staff who were always ready to help make our stay comfortable. They were always cheerful, and here we would like to mention Rose in particular who always greeted us so chearfully each morning at breakfast and remembered which room we were in. The pool staff, waiters, and excursions staff were all great.
The hotel itself is showing signs of age in a few small areas but generally was very nice.
We had some difficulty with the TV but we hardly watched it as we normally ate in and listened to the entertainment provided.
We didn't eat in town because there are enough restaurants in this hotel and its sister hotel next door (free transfer between them) and the price was reasonable and we knew it was cooked in a 5 star kitchen so no worries about getting ill. All very nice food.
Location is good as overlooks the beach and sea. Quite near the town.
Transfer to and from the airport was very useful as it was complimentary.
We had the breakfast included in our price plan, and it was good with a choice of both European and Indian.
I booked through Expedia and I chose an option to pay at the hotel, however hotel somehow decided to charge my card before my check in. I wanted to pay through the different card but left with no choice. Very inconvenient, called the hotel but no flexibility was shown. I am sure it doesn't make a lot of difference to the hotel, but small things do count. I have shared my concern with Expedia as well.
"Excellent hotel with Exceptional Customer Service"
Stayed in Grand Mercure for 4 nights along with my wife and 10 month old Bub. From the time of arrival to the last day of check out the hotel and staff provided all the comfort and service that a 4.5 star should provide (infact it's worthy of 5 star!!)
Even though at the time of booking we only had the option of two double beds but on arrival we were quickly changed to a king bed room (given our circumstances)even without asking for it. The hotels in Goa do face frequent power cuts and this hotel is no exception but the generator kicked in within seconds!
The food at the restaurant Fiesta was great too especially their buffet breakfast. They can cater to individual requirements in most cases if a particular option you have been craving isn't on the menu. The restaurant manager and his staff took utmost care to fulfill our requirements with brilliant service.
All in all money well spent and will definitely visit again if in North Goa in future. Thanks once again to all the staff of Grand Mercure for making it an enjoyable experience

Stayed here 12 days 50/50. This hotels bad points and good points are in par with each other. Personal choice as in didn't like breakfast. Beds lumpy and hard. Room service not to the highest of standards. But saying that staff very nice pool and surroundings very pretty. Close to aminaties.

I booked two rooms for three nights for a family of 5 from 8th Nov to 11th Nov 2015. Hotel staff at the reception, pool area and dining area are very gentle and helpful. The night security guard at the pool area is always alert and wishes everyone enthusiastically with a big smile every time anyone passes by. Rooms and the pool are clean and the fridge is stacked with essentials at very affordable price tags. Easy access directly to the beach from the hotel is definitely a plus. Free parking is available and the gatekeeper at parking is always ready to guide you for parking properly. 15 % discount at the shack on the beach was a pleasant surprise as the food and the ambience there is excellent. The place is very well maintained. I highly recommend this place, at such affordable prices it's a grab.

Hotel was OK but I Had Broken Toilet Handle / the Window View was with Filthy Rubbish at the Back and I Found Cockroach in the Toilet with loads of Mosquito Bites in the Hotel.
Hotel needs More improvement is Required.
