The Taj Aguda has fabulous staff who were always ready to help make our stay comfortable. They were always cheerful, and here we would like to mention Rose in particular who always greeted us so chearfully each morning at breakfast and remembered which room we were in. The pool staff, waiters, and excursions staff were all great.
The hotel itself is showing signs of age in a few small areas but generally was very nice.
We had some difficulty with the TV but we hardly watched it as we normally ate in and listened to the entertainment provided.
We didn't eat in town because there are enough restaurants in this hotel and its sister hotel next door (free transfer between them) and the price was reasonable and we knew it was cooked in a 5 star kitchen so no worries about getting ill. All very nice food.
Location is good as overlooks the beach and sea. Quite near the town.
Transfer to and from the airport was very useful as it was complimentary.
We had the breakfast included in our price plan, and it was good with a choice of both European and Indian.
The friendliest and most helpful staff we have ever come across! Fantastic service, excellent food, great spa and facilities all right on the beach.
Can't wait to go back to the Taj Holiday Village!!! They really take care of their guests at this resort, it was definitely worth everyour dollar!
An excellent hotel to stay. Everything is very close to the hotel such as ,Shoppings, beach, bus stops chemist and hospitals. Hotel staffs were informative and very helpful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner food was the best quality at hotel restaurant. would like to visit once more.

The only faults were with the nickel and diming. One member of our party had no luggage as the airline misplaced it for 2 days. The hotel charged her for a toothbrush, they also charge for a hair dryer if you want to have one in a room. I've been in a lot of hotels in my day and both of these are firsts..

Since this was our first time at the Haytt, and after trying Novotel, Marriott and Vivanta in the previous years the expectation was very high.
Haytt did live up to its expectations, however some small details that could make a difference were missing.
1. Mini bar in the room was empty and you were expected to pick stuff from the lobby and take it upstairs for chilling in the mini bar..... Who would do that... clear opportunity of missed sales
2. Requested 1 hour late check out, and was told "Sorry we do not have a late checkout policy". Woow.... didnt expect that from Haytt
3. Due to the construction of another wing on going, the pool never gets sunlight and the water was chilling for most part of the day. This could have been better managed
The stay was good the front office staff were very cooperative & also helped me with an early check in , however the breakfast was not at all good with just an option of poori / poha , bread toast & omelette with a canned juice , the hotel must provide a buffet breakfast instead of service on the table as the waiters were lethargic! The rooms were spacious & the house keeping staff cleaned the room with efficiency, pool was small but it's ok , over all a good hotel except the waiters every thing was good
Spacious rooms. We took suites. Bathrooms ok. U get an electric kettle. But no WiFi in rooms. In Ground floor rooms in Maria block, u can't open curtains as ur room interior is visible outside. Try for rooms upstairs.
Breakfast mainly south Indian but eggs are there. Not v large property. But proximity to market n beach makes it very convenient and gud stay.

We were so glad we chose this hotel. The room was comfortable and very well maintained. The service was faultless - every member of staff was willing to help and always ready with a smile. The views over lush countryside lifted our spirits each time we used the pool or sat in one of the "pagodas" with a cup of coffee. The pool was a delight, especially the swim-up bar and the views over greenery. I was so pleased that the grounds were lush and so well maintained. All credit to the designers for retaining much of the natural greenery.
I always looked forward to breakfast each morning, especially eating outdoors, then relaxing with a coffee in one of the "pagodas" to soak up the cooling breezes. Plenty of choice in the buffet (though no proper English fry-up).
Some suggestions, not criticisms:
1) Provide bacon & good sausages at breakfast (ie: a proper English fry-up).
2) The papaya was really delicious but provide more tropical fruit at breakfast (custard apples, mangoes, guavas).
3) ALL prices should always include all taxes. We were frequently caught out! The invoices could always show the breakdown with taxes if the idea is to show the guests how much the government is taking.
4) Music by the pool was a bit boring electronic music. Why not well-known easy listening songs just like is played in the lobby?

Pocket Guide: Goa Candolim Beach - Fort Aguada Hotels
The Candolim Beach in North Goa is a perfect alternative to the crowded beaches of Calangute or Anjuna. 15 km from Panaji, it can be very easily reached from Mapusa and Calangute. For those who prefer a serene and tranquil beach environment, this is the one of the best options. The area provides abundant opportunities for snorkeling, fishing, and diving. Being a prime tourist destination, the area has a number of hotels and guesthouses in the close vicinity of the beach. A must-see landmark at Candolim is Fort Aguada on Sinquerim beach—the best-preserved Portuguese fort in Goa.
