Property was nicely maintained, couple of things could have been better is have all inclusive and provide proper medical facilities for tourists as my spouse fell sick for a day and the doctor fees was exorbitant but other than that overall stay was good.

Excellent facilities. Great pool and beautiful clean beach. Service staff are excellent and delligent. Waiting staff is a mixed though. Also, 'the concierge' will shower you with phone calls until you accept sitting down with them for a 90 minutes presentation pitch for the hotel's timesharing scheme!

Overall, I liked staying here. I came for the first time in 2021 and enjoyed it so much that we decided to come back. The place has noticeably dated in the last few years and could use some room and beach chair renovations. The thing that upset me the most and why my rating is low is because we decided to use the washing machine in our room to do one load of laundry using the provided detergent. Upon removal of our laundry, the cotton clothes in the wash were stained with bleach. Clothing estimated at around $250 was completely damaged. After taking our ruined clothes to the staff, they took some pictures, asked some questions and said there is no way this could be their fault. the detergent does not have bleach and the washing machines are not cleaned with bleach so there is nothing they would do to help us. This was extremely disappointing that there was no effort from anyone to help compensate towards our loss and no ownership of faulty room equipment leading to unsatisfied guests. I was told someone would contact me, and still no effort has been made by anyone at the Westin. I will not be returning to this property again because of the disappointment in how they treat their guests and their belongings.

We just got back from our vacation at the Westin Lagunamar. It’s a beautiful resort. All the staff were great, especially Eduardo the pool concierge and Jorge at the pool bar! We had a wonderful time.

We traveled to Cancun and stayed in the Westin with our 3 kids (one big kid and two toddlers). Resort is very beautiful with good swimming pools and beach access. Kids like it. I would like to give five stars but we didn’t had good experience on the first day of this visit with one of its restaurant’s staff. When we were there and waiting for the food, my 2 year old making sounds with spoon & fork and the guy from the kitchen area shouted from there to stop on my son and made angry face which we all felt really bad, after complaining, the manager apologized but that’s not the way any staff will treat to any guest in this kind of the resort. Other than that everything was good. We like it.

The ocean view is beautiful. The food is just OK, but the shopping mall is opposite the hotel. There are a lot of options in the mall and nearby.

We lost our first day and we're continually bothered throughout our stay by staff for sales. Our concierge even went so far as to say please, this is her livelyhood. I don't go on vacation, spend my hard earned money so you can try to make me feel guilty. This place didn't make you feel like you were on vacation. It was over the top. On our last night there, they even shoved brochures under our door. We were happy to leave.

timeshare hell
unfortunately due to our late arrival, we did not receive the ocean view room we paid for but instead the last available room on the backside of the resort with a view of the storage shed etc..after working extremely hard, I wanted to spend a romantic few days with my boyfriend without any distractions. Management were nice and offered a refund, however pointed out to me that this is a timeshare resort and as it was the holidays, timeshare owners took priority. I found it odd that I could even book a timeshare resort if this is the case. I also didn't particularly realize that this was a timeshare resort or I would not have booked as I prefer a hotel. After a couple of other issues, we returned home the next day and spent the remainder of our vacation at our own homes. I would say it has also left a bad taste for booking via this platform in the future.

The pools were the most amazing I’ve ever seen. Service was excellent as well, particularly Manuel at the Duna sports bar. The only negative was finding available chairs by the pool, and being pressured to buy a timeshare.

Prime location on the hotel strip, very nice beach, very clean, well maintained property with 3 pools. Very clean. Friendly, attentive staff. Very family friendly resort. Took off 1 star for staff & service because of dining (I’d rate everything else 5 star, and dining 3 star). I stayed at this property twice, once in 2016 and once in 2023. Food services have definitely gone downhill. From the menu at the 3 restaurants, to the food quality, to the wait staff/ time, everything was disappointing. I may try another resort in Cancun next time because of this, though I really like the property and the beach.

Please consider my eval as it will influence "As an influential blogger in the travel sphere, I recently spent a week at the stunning Westin Lagunamar. My experience here has me seriously considering it "top choice" for organizing a vacation group of 10- 15 Ukrainian citizens in the coming year. The resort itself is a breathtaking haven, offering unparalleled experiences and amenities that captivate the senses. However, during my stay, I did encounter a couple of hiccups that I believe need attention. Firstly, during the off-season, the temperature of the spas and hot tubs seemed a bit cooler than expected, which somewhat deterred our inclination to fully indulge in the resort's pool areas. Warmer water temperatures would certainly encourage guests to spend more time relaxing in these areas, especially during quieter travel seasons. Secondly, there was an unexpected disruption to the tranquility of the night due to the loud cleaning of the BBQs in front of building 300. As someone who enjoys the Caribbean breeze while sleeping with the sliding glass door open, the noise during the 1 am and 4 am cleaning sessions was quite bothersome. Despite these inconveniences, my overall experience at Westin Lagunamar was exceptional. The stunning ambiance, attentive staff, and luxurious amenities truly make it a destination for a lifetime vacation.
