A Tired Hotel in need of TLC
We arrived for a late check-in to stony faces and a lackluster lobby. A welcome drink in the bar offered first sight of how worn, tired and drab this hotel was.Couches were grey and stained. The table was filthy and we had to request it be cleaned. We were soon in a room, only to discover it was a throwback to student accommodation - circa early 1980's. Lots of red paneled fake wood that made the room very dark. It had bizarre old-fashioned kitchenette with an air of low grade bedsit about it. I complained, but was assured that ALL THE ROOMS were the same... We asked to see one. And it was true. OLD AND UGLY! The bathroom and washroom were old too. No duvet or nice pillows. Just itchy old blankets and pillows hard enough to guarantee you woke up with neck ache after an uncomfortable night. The pool areas very bare and lacking in any charm. Steel loungers and minimal vegetation gave them a clinical feel. On the plus side, the in-hotel entertainment was great and there were lots of activities for the kids during the day. There is a nice beach restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and a buffet bar that we found better than average with a different food theme every day. However, I did get terrible food poisoning at one of these that meant I couldn't eat for three days. I left dehydrated and deflated, so beware what your 'ALL INCLUSIVE' at the OMNI could include... Would never stay here again!
