Great spot in Cancun

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: Close to shopping and excursions. Bus stop right out front.
This was our second time staying here. The entire staff is always helpful and on the ball. The grounds are immaculate and the beach is beautiful. The restaurants are top notch. It is very convenient to shopping and excursions. There is a bus stop right out front. We will be coming back for sure.

Location: Great location, walking distance to the Cancun center. Beach is excellent
Great and pleasant stay for our 25th anniversary, the hotel is at an excellent location, great food and ambiance in the specialty restaurants. Hotel staff was extremely friendly went all the way to help us celebrate our anniversary. Really a great experience, very glad we choose this hotel out of the many we were looking at

Pros: Kind and helpful staff. The beach was amazing with bright blue, warm, bath like water. Who needs pools when you have an ocean like this. Good food!
Cons: Food could be better, not very suitable for teen age kids as there were not many activities for this age group. Better beach side service.
Location: Need to let guest know that to see the Mayan ruins you must be on a tour bus for over 6 hour of drive time(300 plus miles).
We had a great time. The staff was nice and helpful. The grounds were clean. The food was just okay. The Mayan ruins where interesting to see, but very long bus ride, very long 14hour tour. The hotel was nice, but not amazing. The shows and activities at the Hotel were very poor.

Two things to be aware of if choosing to stay here

Pros: The staff in this hotel work very hard to provide a good experience for all visitors. Wait staff in the bars, restaurants etc are amazing.
Cons: Need to change the ridiculous policy of using towel tickets.
Location: Good location right on beach front. From here we visited local shops & did day trips to Xcaret & Chitzen Itza. Many water activities close by.
In recommending this hotel, I can only do so with a clear conscience by informing potential guests that you will be subjected to quite a hard sell to purchase time share (though they will call it something else). If you just want to go on a holiday without having to sit through the presentation be sure to politely refuse their offer to have a breakfast with them that includes a tour of the facilities. Second important thing: whatever you do, never return your towels without getting your towel tickets returned to you. Eventually after discussion with four staff members, including a manager, our so-called missing towels were accounted for, and in the end we didn't have to pay the substantial lost towel fee. But it took about one & a half hours to sort out and I didn't need this sort of hassle on holidays. In general though the staff at this hotel are very friendly and work extremely hard to take good care of their guests. Our room was very comfortable & kept perfectly clean. Enjoyed all our meals at the buffet and specialty restaurants.

Very nice hotel

Location: Location is great!!!
Excellent hotel with a great beach. The facilities are in very good condition and the restaurants are wonderful. My only complaint as an Expedia Gold member and having selected a VIP hotel was that we suppose to get some extra compliments for choosing VIP hotels. We asked them for a late check out and they told us that it was not possible because they had to prepare the room for another people, but if we paid $50 for each hour we can stay....A kind of disappointing after a great stay.

Nothing impressive

Pay the extra money to stay at one of the top 7 resorts in Cancun. We will never return here. The food is awful, constantly bombarded with sales pitches, rooms are so outdated, the mattress had to be over 20 years old (horrible to sleep on). I can go on and on but bottom line, don't waste your time here. Your hard earn money should go to a resort that will make you feel amazing on vacation. Everything here was a hassle and garbage. Stay away!

Beautiful resort on an awesome stretch of beach!

Pros: This resort is around 350 rooms so it is smaller than a lot of the mega-resorts. I felt the service was more personalized and it never felt crowded.
Cons: I really can't think of anything. Our stay in the Villas area was perfect for us as it was quiet and relaxing.
Location: Perfect location oceanfront in the middle of the hotel zone. We loved the resort so much we never left!
Spent 5 days here in August and had an amazing time! We were offered an upgrade to the Villas (Lupita building) and our room had a small pool and deck with steps right onto the sand. It was the farthest building from the main resort and we enjoyed the quiet and pretty walk (and the lizards along the way!). We walked the beach in both directions and this was by far the best stretch. Our room was beautiful and clean and with the upgrade we were given a "butler" who made dinner reservations for us, reserved us a Bali bed on the beach and brought us drinks and snacks. The purpose of this trip was relaxation and lots of down time and the location of our room provided that. We did spend time in the adult pool with the swim up bar which was very nice. The main pool always had something going on and there seemed to be plenty of things to do at the main pool for anyone with kids. We did not attend any of the evening entertainment. We attended both the Italian and Asian restaurants and the ambiance was wonderful, the food was good. We LOVED the buffet (I was worried after reading some of the reviews). Food was plentiful, varied, fresh and delicious and we received top-notch service! A special thanks to Noel and Max and their manager Irving (all at the buffet) who made our stay at the resort truly memorable!!!! Thank you also to Jaime and Roberto at the Villas for trekking across the hot sand with drinks! I would definitely stay at the Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe again!
