Disappointing

Pros: the swimming pool
Cons: carpet, painting, furniture
Location: isolated
Paying a night 300$ for a two bedroom apartment is a budget... The hotel is far from anything (walking distance) and in poor condition, dirty carpet, furniture are old and wear. On the website, it is rated 4* but it is more a 2* type of hotel. The only positive is the indoor swimming in winter, but go there with your towel, they are not supplying any at the swimming pool. This hotel need a complete renovation....

Hotel close to allDickson facilities, shops, cafes

We have been there before. This time stayed in 204. The room included a table to eat at but only one upright chair. Minimal cutlery, crockery: a microwave dish and a bowl for fruit and/or salad would have been appreciated. It is convenient to our family, and, for Canberra, not wickedly expensive. We would stay there again.

Needs renovating

Pros: Not much
Cons: The entire hotel needs renovating, it is very old inside and not well looked after.
Location: The view of the vacant building site from my window made me think I was in the Bronx, not Canberra.
The hotel is old and is in desperate need of a makeover. The carpets were dirty, the furniture old and damaged and the bathrooms were 1980 style. The only benefit was that it was close to Dickson shops and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The photos on wotif must have been 15 years old. Very disappointed.

Hotel was a little worn but had everything we needed, indoor pool was loved by children and service when required was very good.

Don't drink or eat at the bar

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Better towels and a better facility for a drink and bite to eat.
Location: Would not want to stay while rugby match is on
The hotel staff were excellent. The room was clean though found towels very thin and no room to put things on a shelf in the bathroomm. Had a disappointing visit to the bar/restaurant during happy hour where local beer and wine was $5. We were not offered this so after ordering a Chardonnay for me my husband bought a Japanese beer. The wine (which I returned as it had no taste) cost $11.00!!!!!! With a replacement thimble of a glass - never seen such a small amount of wine offerd. The beer $10. We spoke to the person in charge as we thought they should be aware their staff were remiss to not offering the special (which was why we went). Did not stay for anything to eat as food was not healthy and issue left us feeling angry.

Satisfactory with dirty carpets

Pros: Staff. Excellent - thank you
Cons: Slightly better upkeep especially underfoot
Location: You already know. As former residents in Canberra so did we.
Not too bad but stained carpets were a little off-putting. Friendly and helpful staff. Thanks guys!! Would have been better if the people next door had not burnt something in the microwave and left the door open.
