Very pleased

Posted 09-Aug-2015 on Hotels
I received a warm welcome upon my arrival and was shown to my room. I arrived 15-20 minutes after they had finished serving food, but they still kindly made me something delicious to eat. The room was quite small but very clean and comfortable. I had a great nights sleep with help from the comfortable bed and remoteness of the hotel. Allthough I only stayed the one night, I would stay there again.

Great weekend getaway

Posted 29-Jul-2015 on Hotels
Lovely rooms.... Although quite noisy in the morning with the dustbin truck arriving around 6am right outside our room. The restaurant is fantastic. Very close to Stamford and easy to get into Peterborough

Excellent stay in a very comfortable hotel.

Posted 28-Jul-2015 on Hotels
The hotel is extremely comfortable and the rooms are maintained to an excellent standard. The staff are all very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The food is tasty and the menu is varied - as is the drink menu. It is in a very quiet, picturesque village with good (enough) links to Peterborough. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Beware of the alarms!!

Posted 20-Jul-2015 on Hotels
I wanted to stay in Stamford and didn't realise how far Ufford is away. It will come up under a Stamford search but is a good 5 to 6 mile taxi ride away. The hotel has been done up in to a high standard. Sadly it was let down by the fact that when I came back from seeing a colleague in Stamford I let myself in with the key. I walked in the way I walked out and the alarm went off in the bar and went on for over an hour. In the morning another went off. There was no instructions who to call and it is evident that the manager/ owner does not live on site. Another alarm went off in the morning for around 30 mins. I also did not get my alarm call either. If you want a really quiet relaxing stay in a very rural tranquil setting and to bed by 11.15pm then this is the hotel for you. A nice hotel with decent real ales but let down by the organisation. If they can get this right it would be lovely.

Quiet pub room

Posted 12-Jun-2015
Pros: Quiet, location, quality, staff all excellent, friendly and helpful
Cons: Keep as is.
Excellent - as expected from other reviews. However, it might not be so quiet on a busy night - the room was over the bar.

A comfortable country inn

Posted 06-Jun-2015
Pros: We were particularly impressed with the level of service offered by the hotel from the welcome we received on arrival to the time of departure.
Cons: In our older rooms the bathrooms need refreshing to bring them up to modern expectations. Wi-Fi is good but the televisions rather small - a trifle.
Location: Ufford is an attractive village of stone built houses. It is extremely convenient for visiting Burleigh and Stamford.
The White Hart is an old, stone built country inn that is being sympathetically refurbished. It offers both the old and the new. The older rooms have bags of traditional character and space but some are difficult to access by steep, awkward if entertaining stairs. The newer rooms (being built) will be smaller and more like motel rooms with a door directly onto the courtyard – their fittings appear to be of high quality. There is a large bar and extensive separate restaurant accommodation comfortably able to cater for groups as well as individuals. Tables for couples and small groups are in the atmospheric, old part of the building whilst larger parties seem to be accommodated in the new area formed by roofing in the space between two parts of the building - it is light, airy and elegant. The restaurant menu offers a good range of choice but very little for vegetarians. When we were there the only non-meat or fish option was a goats cheese and tomato Wellington – nice enough but not something to eat on consecutive nights. Given the quality of personal service we experienced I think the kitchen would have done something specially if I had given them notice. Other dishes were nicely presented and the portions were of a good size. The wine list is good. The breakfast menu is a little limited but the quality of the cooked meals is high. There is a large courtyard garden where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine for most of the day.

A really nice "off the beaten path" Pub/guesthouse. It is all remodeled to a very high standard. I had room No. 1 which was more than adequate with a new up to date ensuite bath. New rooms were under construction to the rear but there was no noise or dust associated with it. Staff was very attentive and I felt quite at home.

US visit

Very nice place to stay, clean, very good food, our room was in a more modern/renovated area, so none of the old building issues. Would definitely stay again.
