Overnight stay

Posted 22-Aug-2015
Pros: Handy for Peterborough centre.
Cons: A cooked breakfast would be a bonus.
Stayed here due to attending a wedding locally, check in was very good, we arrived early and our rooms were available.

Excellent value for money

Posted 17-Aug-2015
From check-in to departure we can't fault the excellent staff. The room was spaceous and very clean, as was the bathroom. The bed was a little soft and the shower a little weedy (despite looking very funky) but they are really the only two negative things we can find to say. If you're looking for warm and friendly staff and great value for money, this is the place to stay.

Great cozy hotel with breakfast in bed!

Posted 06-Aug-2015
Clean and tidy room, great breakfast, staff very accomodating (stored our luggage and also arranged a room on the ground floor so we didn't have to carry our heavy bags up stairs) Best Thai restaurant on the ground floor, the best Thai food I have ever had also wonderful staff and affordable prices. We lived our 1 night stay at the Pearl and would stay again 😊

Nice, but not as nice as expected

Posted 29-Jul-2015
Pros: Room décor was lovely, as were the staff. The restaurant attached to the hotel was superb, some of the best Thai food we have had. Location is great.
Cons: Bed needs replacing, or at least a better mattress. Shower and lighting really not very good. Stop National Express idling their coaches outside.
I cannot fault the hotel overall but there were a few things that let them down. The room was great, but the bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in in any hotel. The join in the base could be felt through the mattress resulting in a really uncomfortable nights sleep. As a contact lens wearer the lighting in both the room and bathroom was appalling, there is no lighting near any of the mirrors available, how women do their makeup is beyond me. The shower was next to useless, you would probably do better pouring water over yourself out of one of the glasses and there was no hot water at 7:30 in the morning on our 2nd day. And the hotel needs to consider their agreement with National Express Coaches. Every night that we were there a coach parked up outside the hotel around 9:30 at night, making entering or exiting the hotel car park a problem, and then from around 6:30 in the morning the coach sits outside with the engine running for a good 15 to 20 minutes, which if you are in one of the front bedrooms means you are in for an early wake up call.

Lovely welcoming hotel

Posted 11-Jul-2015
Pros: Everything was clean, tidy, organised and beautiful. Loved the flowers in our room.
Cons: Maybe gluten free bread options?
Location: Don't know about the location other than it was close to the station. Very convenient.
We arrived late at night and were greeted by a very friendly guy who told us that we had been upgraded! Excellent start! We had a nice selection of breakfast items from which we could choose for the morning and it was delivered to our room at the time we requested. Gorgeous, huge bedroom and clean facilities. Wonderful experience.

Well located for a visit to Peterborough.

Posted 22-Jun-2015
Pros: Very nice room.
Cons: Strange location for the TV. Breakfast out of room - not my taste. Also, a full English would have been welcome rather than Continental only.
Location: Cathedral and medieval centre. Decent shopping.
Friendly staff and a good location. We were very impressed with Peterborough. Disabled / limited mobility travelers should ask for the room with life access - stairs are not easy!!! I would not recommend the 'Thai' restaurant attached to the hotel. Food was very greasy and rather tasteless - very little genuine Thai input.

Delightful find for overnight break in journey

The Pearl was 'everything it said on the tin' and more. Lovely room and bathroom, apart from being at the back of the hotel. Staff and service were excellent. In the evening we ate in the Mai Tai Restaurant, which is part of the building, and the food and service were exceptional - wish it was closer to home so that we could pay regular visits! We were given a plenty of choice on the included continental breakfast, which was delivered to our room, where we were able to relax and enjoy. Would certainly recommend.

Was good, but not amazing. Good size room but very cheaply finished. Breakfast was very disappointing they may as well not bother.

Overall great hotel, friendly & helpful reception with very good plentiful continental breakfast delivered to the room at guests choice of time. Good position for central Peterborough. Excellent Thai restaurant adjacent to hotel. Would visit again.
