Great hotel with thai restaurant on site.

Posted 21-Oct-2016
Pros: Food.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: We arrived late and struggled to find without satnav. Checked internet and then found it. Local area had some ethnic restaurants which looked good
We booked deluxe room, it was very clean and spacious. Tea and coffee in room with settee in room. Only issue was bed was too hard for me. On site thai restaurant was very good and convenient. Breakfast is included continental delivered to room.

Lovely hotel

Posted 27-Aug-2016 on Hotels
Hotel is a little out of Peterborough centre. It's a 1 mile walk, or a £4.00 taxi to the football ground, so a little less than that to the main city centre. As other reviewers have mentioned, the air-con doesn't seem to work in the ground floor rooms, but the very nice lady on reception moved me to a 1st floor room with excellent air-con (it was 29 degrees outside that day - so very welcome). The room was lovely, with nice mood lighting as shown on the web page, and a fragrance plug-in to make the room smell nice. Quite a large room, with a large work desk and chair, as well as another table and 2 soft chairs for relaxing (and for eating breakfast). Large screen TV on the wall opposite the bed, and tea / coffee making facilities finish the room off. The bathroom was quite large, spotlessly clean, with a good sized shower. The water pressure in the shower could be better, but certainly adequate. Some basic toiletries are supplied. Breakfast was a continental affair (toast, pastries, croissants, cereals etc) that you pre-order the evening before and it is brought to your room at the requested time. I actually enjoyed this and the toast and Danish pastry were even still warm. There is a very good Thai restaurant attached to the hotel. Overall, this is the best hotel I have stayed in while in Peterborough. It may not be the cheapest, but the bit extra is worth it in my opinion.

Pros: The place was clean and tidy and staff could not do enough for you.
Cons: Could offer a cooked breakfast.
Location: Town was nearby and train station was a 10 minute walk.
Had a good couple of nights here, unfortunately i did not experience the thai restarant, which i had heard great things about, but maybe next time.

You WON'T get what you pay for!! AVOID

Posted 15-Jul-2016 on Hotels
First impressions were good.Room booked 'King room, executive' to include a KINGSIZE BED. (UK standard size 150cm for Kingsize) l queried this and was promptly lied to by check in desk stating all manor of nonsense, manageress and a random hotel employee! The bed in room 205 is exactly 122cm which is actually a SMALL DOUBLE (as per UK standard) so not even the double they intimated it could be,later recieved an email from manageress stating the bed in the stated room(205) was a KINGSIZE. The manageress failed to appear for 2 arranged meetings, never returned a single phone call either! Aside above room description states bottle of mineral water..infact a glass bottle filled with tap water, flowers....NO flowers(not that l wanted them). Definitely NOT an executive room, windows broken so LOADS of road noise. Be aware no restaurant for your breakfast, its only continental (again not stated) brought to eat in your room. POOR staff,POOR MANAGEMENT,POOR service,POOR customer care. Adjoining Thai restaurant not that great either. I will not be back!!!

lovely staff are let down by the state of the hote

Posted 13-Jul-2016
Pros: the staff
Cons: provide air conditioning
the good things about this hotel are the staff and the location. Unfortunately, the room was a disappointment. The bed was like a trampoline but the worse thing was that we were on the ground floor with a window opening onto the car park at the back of the hotel. There was no attempt at any security so no way we could leave the window open at night. No air conditioning meant we slept in an oven. The lovely helpful staff provided us with a fan so at least we could keep the hot air circulating all night.

Budget hotel that serves practical purpose

Posted 11-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Comparing to other hotels we stayed at during this trip, this one was in the least desirable condition: the building was out of date, the carpet was really old, the mattress and pillows were not comfortable at all. But price wise it was the cheapest. You get what you pay for. One plus side was that it was situated five minutes of walk outside the town centre. The location was convenient. We were only passing through. So for the low price we paid, it served the purpose.

The Pearle

Posted 07-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Bath room light very poor for shaving. Badly placed electric socket for tooth brush and/or shaver. The Item would have to hand from the wall as there is no shelf. Helpful staff. Clean and good size room. Overall would recommend the hotel.
