Lovely hotel close to centre of Cambridge

Posted 12-Apr-2016
Excellent customer service; front desk staff left a map with all the local playgrounds marked, for my young daughter, and other child friendly attractions within walking distance. Afternoon tea was delicious and the free Lego toy kept my daughter amused. Tasty breakfast with good selection. Room clean and comfortable. We will be back.

Mothers Day Weekend

Posted 07-Mar-2016
Pros: Cleanliness, quality of room and friendly staff. Close to amenities.
Cons: Noisy heating system that was on all night and woke me on several occasions.
Location: Just off the main street in Cambridge so within walking distance of main colleges, museums, shops and market.
Without asking we were given a ground floor room, that appeared to be wheelchair friendly so consequently had a big bathroom and plenty of room around the beds. The beds were very comfy, lovely hot shower and immaculate linen. We had a space in the free car park - huge bonus in Cambridge - and the hotel is ideally placed for a short walk to all the favourite sights. We didn't eat in the hotel but we did visit the bar on Friday evening where we had good service if a little pricey. There was a resident jazz pianist who appeared to be enjoying himself, and the bar had a good atmosphere even though there were only a few guests in it.

Nice place for stop over in Cambridge

Posted 11-Nov-2014
Pros: Nice rooms, lovely breakfast, friendly staff
Cons: The bar is functional rather than inviting - perhaps some upgrade but only a minor point
Location: A 5/10 min walk into Cambridge towncentre with all amenities nearby
V. central but quiet hotel, in walking distance of the train station.

For a single Saturday night it was perfect.

Posted 23-Sep-2014
Pros: Spotless room and lobby.
Cons: The corporate decor, while modern, clean, and fresh, is rather gloomy.
Location: We walked to dinner and a concert at the Corn Exchange. If you want to tour Cambridge on foot, it's a terrific location.
We came to town for a concert. This place ticked the boxes: well reviewed, easy to park (and free), clean, quiet and comfortable. Those seeking a quirky bed and breakfast, the seclusion of the countryside, or cloying gingham fabric and overstuffed armchairs should look elsewhere. Those who want efficiency and cleanliness will be quite happy.

Rien à redire, confortable, chambre assez grande, personnel chaleureux. On en attend pas moins étant donné le prix!

Reasonable hotel well situated for restaurants

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Comfortable room but we had a problem with the window that would not stay open and the shower which was not working-they fixed the showe for us. Breakfast preparation was very slow - We waited half an hour for the cooked breakfast and then it was CS when it arrived! Would stay elsewhere if we visited Cambridge again

Lovely stay

Posted 14-Jul-2014
This was one of the few hotels that allowed you to book for just one night at the weekend. Another big selling point was the free parking which few other central hotels offered. The location was great, overlooking the Green and just a short walk of the city. The hotel was in good decorative order, the air conditioning worked well and our room was comfortable. We didn't stay for breakfast because there are so many eateries in walking distance but I liked the fact that it was small hotel and the staff we had contact with were all courteous and helpful.
