Great Hotel

This is a lovely hotel with very friendly staff and it's in a great location, a pleasant, easy walk to the centre. Also there is free parking, which is always a bonus.

Weekend stay

Posted 26-Aug-2016
Pros: A beautiful hotel, nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful staff. Views from the room were lovely. Room service is excellent. Delicious food.
Cons: The long wait for breakfast.
Location: The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the centre of Cambridge and a Punting trip on the river Cam is a must.
Visited Cambridge with my friend and 2yr old daughter. The hotel was close to the city centre and all local attractions. We stayed in a twin room with a travel cot which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff call at each room between 7pm-9pm, to see if anything is needed to make your stay more comfortable eg pillows and toiletries. Ipads, hairdryers, tea and coffee facilities and botles of water are provided in your room. Room service is quick and the food was delicious. The only negative feedback we would give the hotel is the wait at breakfast time. We arrived in the atrium at 9.30am and were seated immediately. We were given a menu and told our order would be taken shortly. Nobody approached us so we helped ourselves to cereal, fruit and fruit juice, which was located in an ajoining room although not informed of this. It was then 40 minutes before a waiter took our cooked breakfast order and then another 30 minutes before it arrived. This left us with 20 minutes to eat our beakfast (which was delicious once it arrived) and check out by 11am. A disappointing end to a wonderful weekend.

Good central location for easy access to Cambridge

Posted 25-Aug-2016
Pros: Friendly, old fashioned service in a clean modern hotel.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Located within walking distance of Cambridge centre - shops, Grand Arcade and Colleges. We took a punt trip and really enjoyed our 45 minute trip.
Welcoming and genuinely friendly staff. Room clean comfortable and cool (temps unprecedented high 30's). Nice touch with hotel and general information on room I pad for easy access. Breakfast perfect with overwhelming choice and every cooked breakfast made to order. Coffee delicious and courteous service. Noticeable individual touches (fresh baked cookies available in reception) and lap top safe.

Pros: Location and ambience
Location: Great location, close to historic area and canal
Enjoyable stay in recently refurbished hotel. Rooms clean, spacious and well appointed. Great location, including parking, which can be difficult in Cambridge. Easy walk to historic area and to canal.

Moderate price, well run hotel with good service

Posted 19-Jul-2016
Cons: See note about bathroom in review
Staff were very nice. The hotel provides umbrellas, which was very helpful. They also have a fleet of Teslas; they ferried us to the station, gratis. Nice touch. The room had one issue, in that the bathroom door was a frosted glass barn door that doesn't provide much privacy and doesn't close tightly. Proper breakfast in a pleasant dining room.

Nice hotel in a good location

Posted 11-Jul-2016
Location: Very good location, half way between railway station and city centre.
We had a change of plans ( an additional person in the room) and when we contacted the accommodation manager directly before our arrival, she was very helpful and corresponding with her was a pleasure.
