Ideal hotel to explore Cambridge and surroundings

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Pros: Location, its proximity to Cambridge without being in the centre. The spa and the meals. Excellent breakfast and lovely evening meals.
Cons: Check in was a little haphazard
Location: It was easy to find from the M11, the Morrisons is handed for any forgotten items. We only explored The city itself as there was so much to see.
The hotel is 10 minutes from the park and ride that takes you straight into the centre of Cambridge. After a great day exploring the city it was great to go back to relax in the hot tub and take a gentle swim, followed by a quite evening meal.

Dear Monica, Thank you for your positive response. We also appreciate that it is ideally placed to venture in to Cambridge, using the park ride. Kind regards Darren T

ok but

Posted 22-Mar-2016
The room was a bit disappointing; windows did not close properly, the sink was chipped, no fridge, minibar or safe. Not a major disaster but for £120 a night I would at least expect the windows to shut properly. Other than that the hotel was very nice; staff were friendly, pool area was nice though could get crowded.

It's ok just avoid room service breakfast.

Posted 05-Mar-2016
It's another business hotel. Probably over priced. Staff nice. Room service breakfast arrived at last possible moment, was tasteless and tepid.

Average modern hotel - question 4* rating

Posted 08-Feb-2016
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: Fix the fire door on the ground floor near room 103, so that it closers quietly. It made a racket each and every time someone went through.
Location: Good location for the American War Cemetery - very moving. Cambridge is close'ish by car.
Having booked a weekend break, we were thoroughly disappointed to find on checking in at reception, that they had no availability in the restaurant that evening, nor did they have any spa treatment availability - both reasons for booking this hotel. There is nothing else to bring you here, as it is a new build village complex and miles from anywhere else, and had we known, we would have stayed in much closer proximity to Cambridge. With modern communications I don't think it unreasonable to alert guests, by email/text, to the fact that their two primary offerings - restaurant/spa, are unavailable. Had we known we would have rebooked somewhere else. We were had no compensatory offer from the receptionists. We were even billed for delivering room service!

Very relaxing, stress free good quality

Posted 06-Jan-2016 on Hotels
Really enjoyed our stay. Bed was very comfortable, breakfast was delicious, though there was not much options. They also provided free WiFi which worked really well. Couldn't fault it. Bathroom had both bath tub with shower and a separate shower which was very useful. Though the hotel was very busy the Service was still good. Room was kept clean with tea and coffee with biscuits always replenished. Would visit again but next time will take advantage of their spa and relaxation package. Good quality all round.

Facilities not up to scratch

Posted 30-Dec-2015
The hotel room was clean and suitable. The leisure facilities were too busy and impossible to swim and use jacuzzi. The female changing room was dirty. The menu choice in restaurant was too limited and we ended up eating in the bar.

3 day Stay

Posted 13-Dec-2015 on Hotels
The Cambridge Belfry was convent for our stay visiting family, set in nice grounds with rooms that were clean and tidy; the on-suite bath room had both bath and separate shower But that’s as good as I can say, as a hotel promoted to be in the top end of its class, the rest was average to poor, only one bar, which if you were having pre diner drinks you would not want to drees up for, the restaurant OK but basic, the lounge area was poorly laid out so if more than one or two small groups used them, they were full, in a hotel that caters for 120 gest! It’s not that it was bad; it’s that there is nothing about it; so I came away thinking for a bed, clean and comfortable as it was, that was expensive
