Hotel staff brilliant - well equipped gym - great break fast - after a couple of visits to Resturant they knew who I was and what my preference were.

Was a retreat away from the hustle of city life, the hotel accommodated all the requirements of a tranquil time away from that. Loved the lake by the hotel.

Management failure - part 2

The non-functioning front desk turned out not to be the only problem. I was double-charged and their accounting dept won't respond. I paid by Expedia, and after check out the hotel used my credit card to charge me again. Expedia has repeatedly tried without success to contact the hotel to correct this. STAY AWAY until the management problems are rectified.

Dear Anonymous - We have done training with the reception team to eradicate this issue having again. There is always a senior management on site, so there should not be an issue to contact the hotel. Kind regards Darren T

Good hotel , food ok , good value for money

Cons: Shower only cold water came out , reported this but could not be looked at until the next day
Location: Great food local pub or Napalise
Generally a good experience , food , room and conference room very good

Management failure

Very nice hotel. Our sole problem was that the front desk did not answer the phone for 2 hours. While they later claimed that they were busy, it's incredible that management hasn't explained that answering the phone isn't optional at a full service hotel. Seems like our view is similar to many reviewers that the physical plant is very good but the staff training is poor.

Very nice stay.

Staff were very professional and polite. Especially Daisy on reception who organised a little chocolate dessert treat to be sent to our room when she heard it was my partners birthday. Hotel was clean and well equipped. Room very nice and large. Bonus to have a bath and separate shower. It was about 10 mins drive from Cambridge and was easy to find. Hotel set in a nice surrounding. Breakfast was very good too. Would stay again.

Buy the chef a vegetarian cook book.

The only vegetarian options on the room service menu were macaroni and cheese, margherita pizza and a cheese sandwich - thank goodness I'm not a vegan. So I went to the restaurant, which I didn't want to do alone. They told me that I could order anything and have it delivered - great - what vegetarian options did they have - pasta and sauce!! They asked me what I ate - well - anything that hasn't been killed, and plenty of healthy vegetables, pulses and fruit.The manager pointed out the risotta had some vegetables in, so I had that! Just as well I wasn't staying for longer.
