    Hospital trip and overnight stay

Lovely place to stay after long day travelling for appointment room beautiful and accommodated request for ground floor room and gave choice of bath or shower. Booked table for evening meal but there was a funeral and was very busy and my wife uses crutches so didn't get round to having a meal however opted for full English for breakfast and have to say was beautiful all fresh quality ingredients and the young lady serving was fantastic would deffinately stay again if have to come back to area.

The pub is lovely. The room (number 6) was a bit stuffy - there are no windows to open. The single beds are also a bit creaky! We had a good meal in the pub but the service wasn't very good. There was a large party in but even so, the actual ordering service was very slow. We had booked for dinner at 730 as this was the time advised to us so as to avoid a delay in service. When we came down, we didn't appreciate the waitress' curt 'have you booked?' rather than 'hello' or 'good evening'. If we had known the service was going to be so slow (15 minutes before taking our drink and food order, another half hour for first course) we would have gone somewhere else. Having said that, the food was good except for a piece of plastic in my burger (waitress #2 took it into the chef) and the price was reasonable. The landlord was very nice and helpful as well when we asked about routes to our destination the next day. Not sure if we got them on a 'bad' day but not sure if we would stay here again.
