Got upgraded to king room as it was a 21st birthday surprise which was amazing, the room was gorgeous. Staff were more than happy to help make the surprise the best it could be, apart from one doorman who was slightly rude! But the rest of the stay well and truly made up for it. Even a happy birthday note and chocolates added by staff for the birthday boy. Pricey room, but definitely worth every second of being there. The rooftop terrace is stunning also! Would love to stay again!

Set in a picturesque location on the edge of the River Cam in the heart of one of England's oldest and most esteemed cities, …More
Alert, attentive Reception staff. Most staff helpful, many even attentively welcoming and considerate: a real 'plus', in such a big hotel chain, to find staff expecting to engage with your expectations, not just 'professionally' hospitable. The usual 1 or 2 having a less-than-good day managed to accommodate our requests cheerfully enough, too.
Lovely setting overlooking Cam, weir, fen with big trees, millpond. Invigorating to walk in green spaces outside the door, whilst pretty well at the heart of Cambridge.
We shall return.
Overall, a very good place to stay in the Cambridge area. Room was comfortable, beakfast was excellent, good (free) wi-fi signal, location was good although one does need a vehicle. When we went into Cambridge, we thought the hire car was reasonable - 13GBP. Staff was, for the most part, friendly and helpful. There were many activities available - a golf course and fitness center/pool. However, Because of our schedule, we did not have the time to use those facilities. Would likely use again.
Floating in the misty fens, this beautiful university city attracts hordes of visitors to its gothic spires, shady cloisters and wide open parks. In the summer, sun seekers punt along the Cam or picnic under the willows that line its banks. Strawberry Fair free music festival takes place early in June and the city's famous folk festival is in July. The view from Castle Hill is worth the climb.
