Royal sonesta was in a perfect location for our trip to Boston! Close to our son's graduation, walking distance to the museum of science, shopping area, Starbucks, and plenty of great places to eat! The staff was helpful and provided us with the top dollar experience. Onsite they have a lovely cafe with great coffee/tea, muffins and a delicious assortment of tortes, cookies, and muffins to put in the room fridge for that late night snack. There are three full restaurants on site providing casual or upscale dining depending on the "experience" you desire for that particular meal. Overall, the hotel was fantasitcally maintained, gave us first rate service, and providing a comfy bed during our time in Boston.
This place is top notch. Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. The rooms are clean and elegant. The lobby is gorgeous! Coffee in the morning and wine at night are sweet touches that make one feel at home. I really love the Kimpton chain and this hotel is a welcome addition. Bravo!
Our room was 215, one of the original rooms. Very small, queen bed and no closet. Poor ventilation. Service was good, breakfast was good but seating is limited. The price is exhorbitant for not being located in a central area of the city.
There is no better location in Cambridge for the price than the Harvard Square Hotel. A renovated landmark that doesn't look like much from the outside but is very nicely remodeled with all the comforts. And if you are on the side with a view of the Square, it can't be beat.
Hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service to a few popular destinations around the Boston area.
They don't always tell you to use your room key to exit the parking garage when leaving the hotel and then use the drop box in the lobby to return it. That way you are not charged for parking twice like I was. Staff was very accommodating and quickly reimbursed me though.
Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating from the front desk to the maintenance and housekeeping Including the wait staff in the restaurant/bar.
Rooms were extremely clean. Beds very comfortable.
We would definitely stay here again. Highly Revommended!!
Cambridge’s celebrated universities, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard, take full advantage of the scenic Charles River. Harvard Square, at Massachusetts Avenue and Brattle Street, is a hotbed of activity, both intellectual and otherwise. Down the road, Central Square supports a lively music scene. Young bohemians trend toward neighboring Somerville, north of Cambridge.
