Disappointing
The hotel says it has double beds but it doesn't. They have twin beds put next to each other. The night manager was great but couldn't help. The day manager didn't speak with us or try to resolve the issue instead a very unhelpful receptionist told me I would have to pay more if I wanted a double bed. The hotel also claims to have parking but it doesn't. If you want to park your car you have to use street parking and if it's full you have to drive around looking for parking. During the day all you can hear is the construction site opposite. The spa is disappointing, steam and sauna turned off and no one in attendance.

Good morning,we are sorry to hear about your stay at the hotel, the double beds are subject to availability, only the Gold level rooms always have them, that is why our colleague suggested an upgrade, we do not know that for this reason you wanted to talk to someone in charge.The schedule of the works of the neighbors is from 10 to13, no more and have all the permits from the authorities, then the hotel can not do much, it is also true that the works are very advanced and the noises are not many.The sauna/spa is on request and is only included for guests with Gold Level rooms and is only occupied by the masseur when he has massages planned and our lifeguard.We hope these explanations have been helpful, thank you for your understanding.Best regards, reception team

The hotel is nice, cozy, clean, well maintained. Nice food, great staff… pools are great! A few points worth mentioning: the sound proofing is not ideal, if people are talking louder or making noise, you can hear it a lot, especially at late hours. Food is great, buffet is great, but the choices dont change. We were there 9 nights, everyday is the same choice. The choice is BIG, but again, the same. The position of the hotel is at a bottom of the hill and when the air is “heavy”, its hard to escape it, no wind to make it easier.

No fighting over deck chairs at this hotel!
Wonderful peaceful hotel. Small lagoon beach a 3 minute walk away. Palma Nova beach area a 25 min bus ride or 11 min taxi. The room was decently sized and had comfortable beds. Breakfast had enough variety of options. The ac in the room was weak but after awhile it worked. Staff was very kind. Would recommend for a peaceful get away. The pools were never over crowded and you didn't have to fight for deck chairs.

Everything was good. But I could hear other guests through the wall. There is a building site opposite. And the area outside the hotel entrance needs some love. The beach and bay is five min walk. The nearest supermarket is a 15 minute walk up a steep hill. Breakfast was lovely. Pool area great. Staff super lovely.

Nice quiet chilled break
My room was beautiful - I wanted some peace and quiet so having the large terrace and hot tub was perfect. It looks out over the pools but was far enough away to be private. The breakfast and dinner options were lovely - the bar staff were brilliant and attentive. The hotel is in a quiet area - the local town area is lovely but up a steep hill. The little cove beach area was beautiful. I wouldn’t want a room looking over the road (lots of building work going on, although none of it is loud or intrusive). It’s a really quiet place, no loud music round the pools, it’s perfect for a chilled break in the sun. I would definitely go back to stay in the main suite - it was just what I wanted.

Anka was amazing, so lovely and helpful! The location is a short walk from the local beach and also close to a strip of restaurants nearby. Definitely recommend hiring a car in Mallorca to see everything, there can be a bit of a wait for taxis. The hotel has a great free breakfast and beautiful pool!

Nice view and quiet area
Nice hotel, great view from the room and pool area of the costa part of the hotel. The breakfast was okay. Beds were not super comfortable and the room was not very noise insulated. Area is nice, not as busy as other parts of Mallorca. 2 nice beaches nearby. Food options in the area was pretty poor if looking for good Spanish food. Mostly Italian restaurants.

The is a lovely little hotel - but - make sure you select the right room! I was given a tiny single room which you couldn’t swing a cat in. The bathroom was more a cupboard, and the sink facilities were at the end of your bed! Very claustrophobic. I paid to upgrade to a bigger room. Also, if money allows, don’t bother with half board. The selection at dinner isn’t great. Eat out. The pool areas were spotlessly clean. Snack bar was great, and breakfast was lovely. So much choice. At the bottom of the road is a lovely little cove with a clean beach and clear warm water for October. There’s a little beach bar as well for those that are thirsty! You can walk to the little village where there are restaurants BUT it is a 10min walk uphill. Not for the faint hearted! A cab ordered at reception is only approx €4. The marina is lovely but you’d need to get a cab as well. Palma is approx 15mins away in a taxi - and well worth a visit. Lastly, Anka on reception is AMAZING. Helpful, kind and gave great advice on the local area. She is a credit to the hotel.

A great hotel close to the beach
Tacande was a perfect hotel and location for our trip. 2 minutes walk from the sea and a great swimming area. 3 pools at the hotel with plenty of space around each of them. Good service at the pool cafe and the breakfasts were great. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We were very disappointed to find there was a daily charge for the pool towels. Also apparently our room wasn’t entitled to any shampoo, conditioner or body lotion despite their website stating bathroom toiletries. There was a toothbrush, shower cap and soap but I’d rather have had shampoo etc. When I called reception the gentleman’s response was there isn’t a manager and I only work here. Not what you expect for a 4* hotel.

all rooms have shampoo and shower gel dispenser, the amenities that our colleague gave you are for Gold Level rooms, so they are not included. We believe we did the right thing even though we had a deluxe room with the right amenities. Best regards

Location is excellent, small beach is a small walk away, literally 3 mins. The Pool area is loveley except I really didn't appreciate the music playing out of the speakers, it wasn't even house music, it was simply annoying and forced upon you. It definitely was too loud to be background music. The staff are great, very helpful and friendly and the other beach is 10 minutes walk away which is beautiful and right next to the swanky marina. Great place and the hotel is pretty good for the money.

The hotel is really lovely, very clean and staff are very professional and friendly. Two lovely swimming pools with beds/umbrellas. Not overly big but still really good. Small beach at the end of the road. Breakfast was super, lots of choice. Lunch and drinks in the pool bar were high quality and very reasonable. Would definitely stay again at this hotel.

Loved it 😁 Such a clean hotel. Great location. The pool area is brilliant but we spent most of our time at the amazing little beach at the end of the road. One thing about the pool area, and I think people will see this as good and bad, there are quite a lot of trees and surrounding buildings and this means there is often shaded areas. Breakfast is lovely, really nice 😋 but if I was to be extra critical it would be good if it could be extended to 11:30. It may just be that we’re a lazy couple but we ended up missing breakfast several days. Overall a super hotel and we’d love to visit again.

Good hotel but reception is always very hectic and staff seem stretched, which doesn’t create the best first impression. Hotel can also be noisy at night with people coming back from their night out. Main clientele are groups of friends- some very young and loud. Breakfast is very good with a great selection every day. Pool restaurant and the staff also very good but there’s not enough seating at the pool restaurant for the amount of people, which makes lunch service very busy and sometimes a long wait wit so many large groups, albeit staff were quick and very polite to try snd accommodate. Did not use the spa. Hotel and the bedrooms very clean. Hotel do not supply bottled water in the room so this needs to be bought in a local shop or ordered for a hefty room service charge. We were informed that drinking out the tap in the room is not recommended but not offered a solution. Town of portals is a 15 min walk (uphill) from the hotel and the port is a less than 10 min taxi ride.

Nice Boutique Hotel - good location
Second time staying at RD Mar but this time instead of with family just with 3 golfing friends. Nice facilities and good breakfasts. Evening dinner is now A La Carte only whereas last year they did buffets but did not eat in. The rooms we booked were for single occupancy which was a bit tight to be honest with on suite shower and loo together with the sink out side bathroom which is a bit odd. Room is nicely decorated and comfortable. Not a lot of storage space if staying longer than a few nights. Pools are nice but not very large. Its also quiet as its adults only. Lovely cover beach with bar and beds to rent at the end of the road and 5 mins in taxi to Puerto Portals costs 6 Euro. Staff were very pleasant but were short staffed at reception the mornings we stayed with many waiting to check out and check in. If golfing would recommend playing at Son Muntaner.

Nuria
Nuria at the front desk is a treat and perhaps the hotel's biggest asset. Beds are very hard (and I even tend to prefer hard beds) and the walls are paper thin, so if you enjoy eavesdropping on people having sex or fighting, you are bound to love this hotel.

Nice relaxed hotel close to a lovely beech
Staff made our short stay feel relaxed. I would recommend to anyone to stay. Decent food onsite and two nice pool areas and very accessible short walk to the beech.

Smart, modern,clean , lovely décor.. excellent breakfast. great location for the beach. Pool area was smaller than I hoped and they reserved a "special" part for couples only, which was wasted. If this part was integrated it would have been much better

Chilled out !
What a great chilled resort snd superb hotel. Adults only is the only wsy to go now. Top quality hotel, great location to the beach and not too far to go for food in town. A bit hilly but well worth staying there. Hotel bus to Palma @€5 was great.
