Great location and Staff

Posted 12-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Room was a little small, but what a great view! Staff was very helpful, held our luggage when we arrived much too early to check in. Location perfect to start a D-Day sites tour.

Where to stay in Arromanches

Posted 19-Aug-2016
Pros: Location; service; manager, and staff
Cons: Nothing.
This is a charming hotel within walk of the shoreline and the nearby village. The proprietor could not have been nicer or friendlier. He made it clear he was there to serve his guests and he did so with warmth, friendliness, and efficiency. We were a family of four, and when he realized the two children with my wife and me were adults he moved us into two separate rooms rather than the single "family" room we had booked. And he did this without our requesting it and at no extra charge! If you are staying in this area, head for Les Villas d'Arromanches. You will NOT be disappointed.

Pretty View and Nice Location, Mediocre Room

Posted 13-Aug-2016 on Hotels
This hotel is fine for what it is. Coming from some very high end hotels to this one, made it difficult for us to be comfortable here. The room is very small and the bathroom reminded me of a camper. We knew the room would be small going in (from other reviews), but it was a bit tighter than expected. I think the hardest thing for me as a hotel manager myself was the cleanliness of the room - the room had clearly not been vacuumed. The building from the outside looks like it could be a nice place, but the inside is chopped up to make the maximum number of rooms possible and everything is done very cheaply and poorly - especially the carpet and stairs. The positives are that it was a nice location and we had a pretty view from our room. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was hearty (although not included in the room rate).

Dear customer, thank you for your comment. First of all we are delighted to read that you appreciated the view, as well as our beds, and our breakfast. Actually our rooms in the main building are a little bit small, but our hotel is in the course of renovation, and the latter will be renovated soon. We would be delighted to see you again to show you our new rooms. Best regards, the management team.

Hotel position good but provision bit basic

Posted 30-Jul-2016
Pros: The buffet breakfast was fine. The hotel position is very good.
Cons: Some rooms are too small to market and charge as doubles. Rooms do not have fridges.
Location: Arromanche: 360 cinema of D Day, restaurants varied, mini golf fun, cliff walk good, beach brilliant. Bayeux: (tapestry, cathedral) 15 min drive.
Arromanche is a good small French town with good restaurants, interesting attractions and a fabulous beach. The hotel is a larger than average, fine if rather faded French country house. It has sufficient parking and pleasant gardens. Our family had booked three "double" rooms, all of which were on the small side, and one of which was so small it should never have been marketed as a double. With the window open, it was not possible to move round the bed; there was a single canvas clothes rack, no drawers or other storage at all, and only one, uncomfortable, chair. On the plus side the view was nice and the staff helpful.

Dear Linda, thank you for your comment. We read with pleasure that you appreciated our breakfast and our staff, just like our location, placed in the heart of landing beaches, and in only 5 minutes of the city center of Arromanches. We understand your remarks about the rooms which you had, and we inform you that our main house in which you were will be renovated soon. We hope to see you again when our works will be ended to discover our new rooms. Best regards, the management team.

Dear customer, we are saddened to read that your stay was not as relaxing as you wish it. Concerning the back door, there was maybe a problem with the lock, you should have come see us, we would have been able to solve the problem. Concerning the shampoo, know that the bottle of soap present in the shower, also serves as shampoo. We nevertheless hope to see you again, hoping that your next stay will be pleased you. Best regards, the management team.
