The hotel is central and there is plenty of parking in the area. The hotel itself is run down and desperately needs a lick of paint if nothing else.

The hotel is right in the center of the town. The entrance is a little strange and it did not say originals hotel on it. The hotel itself is very basic and it smelt of curry? But bed was comfy and bathroom clean and modern.

One thing after another
The desk clerk seemed surprised that I had a hotel reservation, but aside from that the check-in was uneventful. The hotel room was a decent size for the price and the location is in the center of town. They do allow pets which leads me to a rather unpleasant experience. My dog was not allowed in the breakfast area. Fine, so I left her in my hotel room. Then, the fire alarm went off and all doors were closed. My first thought was the safety of my dog so I ran upstairs to get her. We descended the stairs and waited in the lobby. A woman appeared and stated in French something about the alarm being triggered and there was no danger. So I walk upstairs with my dog to the breakfast area. The hotel manager who approached me earlier asked me where I was taking my coffee and croissant. I explained that we were going back to my room. He told me that I couldn’t take it with to my room. I made the point that I won’t leave my dog alone in the room for fear that am actual fire would occur. We got to arguing when the fire alarm sounded again and as the door was closing it hit the coffee cup and coffee spilled onto my white shirt. I grabbed my dog and went outside and ordered a cappuccino at the cafe next door. This morning didn’t start out well. After the fire alarm stopped & no fire trucks appeared, we returned to the hotel. Now while taking a shower the night before, the water backed up & nearly overflowed onto the floor. I contacted the hotel & was told it would be fixed.

The hotel is centrally located with convenient public parking nearby. Although not in tip-top condition, the place is clean and the beds are comfortable. The owner/operator stays at the premise so the services are good and efficient.

Great location, good value, and comfortable
This is a hotel in a central location in Lisieux, it offers good value and is comfortable and clean. The rooms are a little dated in décor but are spacious and it offers a good place to stay.

Mr. Patel was very nice and helpful.
The hotel is near all the places that we planned to visit in Lisieux. Mr. Patel gave us the direction to different places that is connected with St. Therese. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and our visit in Lisieux.

After a long day of travel, comfort is at this Inn
The owner, Mr. Patel was extremely gracious and accommodating. He was most helpful to me as I tried to resolve a personal situation. His calm demeanor and friendly suggestions made our over night stay a delight.Because of him I would stay for a few day on my next visit to the area. His suggestion for a restaurant was perfect. It would be helpful to a traveler to know that there is a parking area almost directly across from the hotel. This Inn is a hidden treasure.

Cozy hotel which is so welcoming
I simply am in love with this cosy hotel in the middle of the busy town area in Lisieux. The big room really impressed me and I was simply awed by the size of the bathroom! When I entered into the hotel, I was greeted warmly by Mister Patel and my eyes just got bigger especially when I saw the lift with the door just like in the olden days. As I went up to Room 20, I was greeted by a vintage designed doorway and of course the bathroom!!! Next came the view from the window which got me really excited! I simply love standing at the window, looking at the people and listening to the church bells. Even though it was winter, I still opened the window and feel the ambience of the busy streets in the day. Mister Patel is really helpful as I dare not venture too far as it was really dark during winter so I got microwave food from Carrefour Express which was a few shophouses away. I chanced upon Mister Patel and he put my dinner in a microwave so I could have a hot dinner for that night. It was all these little touches and also the breakfast ... I felt totally spoilt!

Good for a quick day trip to Lisieux. Across the street from St. Thérèse's childhood parish cathedral, close to the other St. Thérèse must-see places, and in a safe section of town. Friendly service.

Great location
The location was excellent. Our rooms were comfortable, although my mattress was a bit too firm (resolved by putting extra blankets beneath the bottom sheet). We did not experience the breakfast, so cannot comment. Overall very satisfied and would return.

I've stayed here twice and ironically was given the same room. Room was very spacious and clean and had a little balcony that overlooked a courtyard. First time I went in April, the room temperature was perfect. The second time in November, the room was freezing! I complained about it and they immediately turned the master switch higher. By 4am it was warm and toasty, but had to sleep with my coat on before then. They have free wifi but got bumped out if it a few times. Overall for the price, it's a good place to stay.

I had a great visit.
I had a good experience at Hotel de la Place. The receptionist was very nice. My room was large and clean. The people were nice and helpful and close to the Basilica and Carmel. Town was cute with lots of shops.

Right in the center of Lisieux. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean, although a little bit oddly painted. There were something like 10 tiny, virtually useless pillows on the bed and 2 usable ones. Shower has no curtain or anything. Like a moron, I bumped my head on the slanted ceiling. If your relatively tall, watch your head. Pretty inexpensive fee for dogs. If I were to go to Lisieux again, I'd be happy to stay here again.

Great hotel and good location. St. Peter's Basilica is just across the street.The front desk staff is nice. Breakfast buffet cost $10.00 which is good. The room is clean, big and comfortable as well as the bathroom. The restaurants in Lisieux open at 7 p.m. for dinner. That was Sunday when we got there. We stayed overnight for the the feast of St. Therese the next day. The hotel offers breakfast only. I would love to stay there again in the future.

A step in the 1970's
oh my gosh this hotel is well due an upgrade. The whole hotel is like something from a seaside town in the UK in the 1970's. Room was massive with a double and queen size bed - room was cold although good views of the cathedral opposite. Hotel was ok price - we didnt go for the 12 euro breakfast - had a great coffee across the road instead. hotel did a job but would go outta my way to re-stay x

Best Western Lisieux
We came to isieux primarily to visit places associated with St therese and for this the hotel was ideally situated. The room was large and comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was lovely; the bath/shower a total disappointment. It was a triangular tub, not large enough to sit in with a hose but not a shower curtain or proper shower fixing. On retrospect I should have asked to change rooms on arrival as I saw photos of rooms with proper bath/showers. The hotel services page said tea/coffee tray available; this I had to request and it arrived nicely presented but was not topped up at all during the visit nor were the cups cleaned or changed. Equally the hotel boasts a restaurant; this is not the case - there is a restaurant next tot the hotel but it was closed Satpm, all day Sunday and on the remaining days of our stay closed mid evening. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and pleasant. We went to eat mainly in the brasseries around the Basilica. Highly recommende would be Le Basque - extensive menu and extremely friendly helpful staff.

Well located, very friendly and helpful staff, would not hesitate to stay there again.
Although it was not a problem for myself, I was able to put my car in the hotel garage ever night, the hotel garage has only enough parking for 4 cars, this is the only possible draw at the hotel. Having said that, there is plenty of parking opposite the hotel (meter payment).

Nous sommes arrivés, la chambre empester la cigarette et le sol était sale. La douche était cassé elle ne fonctionnait pas il n’y avait pas de douchette . Le ménage n’a pas été fait, les serviettes n’ont pas été changé Vraiment très déçu de cette hôtel Par compte, la petite ville de Lisieux est très belle Je déconseille fortement cette hôtel
