A home away from home

Posted 05-Nov-2015
Pros: The room amenities, location and staff.
Cons: Not much.
Location: Located in a quiet town that's a short drive to most historical war sites.
From the moment we arrived Vito and his team did everything they could to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. Our plans included a tour of the war memorials in the area and this hotel was at the center of it all. Having a kitchenette with a working cooktop and a refrigerator really gave us the liberty of adjusting to the international time change on our own time since everything in the area closes at 6pm. Normally that would be inconvenient, but here it just lends to this small towns charm.

Nice motel, great location for seeing all the war museums/beaches. Breakfast was great, lots of food to choose from. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This is such a beautiful area of France, very happy we decided last minute to squeeze this into our trip!

Pleasant surprise

Posted 08-Oct-2015
Pros: Room was great. Two level loft with bedroom upstairs. Lots of parking. Very comfortable.
Cons: Full time staff.
Location: Your at Gold Beach. Normandy is at your doorstep.
Had a great stay for two nights. Lots of room and very comfortable. Staff at front desk were very helpful. They also arranged for laundry service at a very reasonable price. Came equipped with fridge, stove top, kettle, and kitchen plates and accessories. Would like to return for a longer stay.

Great location, easy access to Sword beach

Posted 05-Oct-2015
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast
Cons: Dish soap and clothes to clean dishes in kitchenette would be very helpful. Hotel advertises laundry but it's not really that accessible (no machines)
Location: Walking distance to Sword beach, a great launching pad for visiting the D-day beaches and museaums
A nice apartment hotel with a small kitchenette. The Standout of this hotel is the breakfast. At 10 Euros it's a bit pricier than some but they really do a great job of it. Everything you need to prepare small meals is in the room. Note there is no dish soap or clothes provided so it's 99% there but you will need some supplies if you plan to use the kitchen facilities.

Nice hotel right next to Gold beach

Posted 28-Sep-2015
Pros: Location, huge bed, fridge to store food and drinks, stove top with pots and pans and other utensils
Cons: better shower door to stop water from going on the ground. Need more air circulation in the room, it can become stuffy
Location: a couple restaurants near by. I ate at La Cale, highly recommended
After driving through Paris I was trying to find rooms for cheap prices. Found this place and very happy with it. Right next to Gold beach. Outside of the facility looks kind of worn down but once you step inside it is very well kept and the complete opposite of what I thought it would look like. Bed was very large and comfy, sheets were clean. This was the first place I stayed that had provided a stove top, pots and pans, a mini fridge to store food and other items. This is a place to stay if you are staying more then one night because you can store and cook food. Bathroom was nice and was a tub/shower. The only problem is if you shower there is only a small glass door that covers half the tub to stop water from going out, this however doesn't work at all and water will go on the floor. The air conditioning was either locked to their setting or didn't work. Although the door to the outside was large and allowed plenty of air flow I didn't want to keep it open over night because its on ground level and someone could walk in. The room needs better air circulation because it can become stuffy in there

not like the pictures, disapointing

Posted 27-Sep-2015
Pros: close to a beach
Cons: Decorating
Location: a few minutes walk to Gold beach where you can see the old harbour points. On the 514 road which travells right along the coast line with attractions.
Contacted the hotel as would be later than 7pm as requested. Arrived at 8pm, receptionist was very chirpy and polite. Explained how to get in and out of hotel and pointed us to our room. When we got to our room we found a room with a large bed, a chest a draws and a minute kitchenette. The bathroom door was a slide door, but there was such a gap, privacy was not an option. We had requested a smoking room which meant out on the patio which was fine by us but the ash tray hadn't even been emptied. You were given one pillow to sleep with each. The paint work in the room definitely needed some work done to it. The hotel done us for what we needed it for and was at a fairly clean standard. However what i read and saw in pictures was nothing that we got when arrived so disappointed. The receptionist did give us some helpful hints for our tour of the beaches the following morning which really was appreciated, This included a lot of local maps which was so helpful as finding the hotel was very difficult as AA planner and SAT Nav using the postcode took us to a field 2 miles away.

Great dog friendly hotel close to the beach

Posted 26-Sep-2015
Pros: Pretty much everything! Loads of parking, short walk to the beach, nice quiet location and great for travelling with a dog
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: beaches and small picturesque towns and villages nearby.
When we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. The room was lovely - a sea view from the side! But what made it great was it was tailor made for the dog.....bed upstairs via wooden open staircase which he would not climb - so peace for us, and sweep clean floors, so no need to worry about the sand, and it was spacious comfortable and modern. GOLD beach was 2 minutes away and there were 2 really good restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The room was semi-self catering so we could do our own breakfast, but the hotel did breakfasts too. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and we would stay there again should be return to that area. Fabulous value for money.

Walking distance to Gold Beach

Posted 25-Sep-2015
Pros: Quiet and Cozy. Lots of history around. Friendly front office staff during the day.
Cons: Room service, in terms of basic necessities we have come to expect in this century
Location: All D-Day beaches are close by
Nice hotel, though far from civilization. Very close to nature and history (D-Day). Room lacked supplies (very basic things). Cleaning staff did not replenish supplies or even clean dirty glassware. Reception told us that it was our responsibility to clean up. Guess, it is a different part of the world.
