Very Good Hotel

Posted 18-May-2017
Pros: Staff, Cleanliness, Breakfast
Cons: not much
Location: Lots to do on beach. Sightseeing is close. Quiet but good
A very good hotel, cheap and very clean, staff were very helpful. the rooms are large and well stocked, with cooker, microwave and fridge. of course kettle. bathroom was large, towels changed every day, as also the the room was cleaned if you wanted it done. Breakfast was good every day, heard lots of good comments on the breakfast. Its very close to the beach and has on site infromation about local ammenties. They also have a restaurant across the road open lunchtime and evenings. Same helpful staff as hotel. Would definitely return to the hotel.

Dear John, Many thanks for sharing this so adorable and complete summary relative to your time at Gold Beach Hotel. Our building enjoys a prime position between English Sword beach and American Utah beach. As you noticed, attractions don't lack in the vicinity, namely WWII radar museum, William the Conqueror centre in Bayeux and Normandy victory museum. Your compliment about the staff is really appreciated. It was a pleasure to be at your service. We are happy you found the room allocated to you at your convenience. Your positive feedback about the breakfast and information at your disposal to discover the surroundings is appreciated.Note that the restaurant is very popular for the non-residents and reservation is highly recommended. We would be thrilled to welcome you again in a near future. Kind regards,

Nice budget hotel near the beach

Posted 14-May-2017
Pros: Good value and well situated near the sea
Cons: Cups and plates in poor condition
Location: Close to the D day landing beaches
We stayed in a ground floor room with outside access and garden chairs provided. The room was clean with self-catering facilities including a coffee maker and good sized fridge. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean with basic toiletries

Real close to the beach, maybe 10 min stroll.

Decent place, stayed 1 night because of the proximity to the landing beaches, wifi could use a boost in power.

Ok hotel

Posted 05-Apr-2017
I stayed here for 2 nights. The staff are not always around so you have to call them to check in or ask questions. The hotel hall way on the first floor had a weird smell, kinda like mold. My room was ok, again i didnt stay in my room much, I was only in the area to visit the D-Day landing sites. The internet was very weak and the 10 euro breakfast was horrible, If your looking for a place to just rest your head while visiting all this d-day this hotel is ok. For more comfort try other hotels near by.

Local to beaches

Posted 09-Jan-2017 on Hotels
It was great,we were able to cook in our rooms as there was an electric hub, microwave and fridge. The only complaint was that my son had to make sure his radiator was off as there was a foul odour coming from it which we mentioned to the desk staff

Great stay, great value.

The manager, Marco, was very friendly and professional. He informed me of local attractions and places to eat. The room was simple and clean. The room was freshly painted. Tile floors were installed in lieu of carpet and were clean. Small kitchenette was available to do light cookings. Room came equipped with a coffee pot and small refrigerator, sink and microwave. A great value for the price paid.

Normandy experience

Posted 28-Nov-2016 on Hotels
We arrived a bit later than anticipated and although they encouraged customers to call for check-in services, there was no need as the staff patiently waited for us. Not only they waited, they received us with a warm welcome and answered all our questions! KUDOS!!! The hotel is at steps from the Gold Beach one of the historic beaches used by the Armed Forces during WWII (D-Day). Very country but beautiful chateau everywhere. Our bedroom had beach view and waves sounds which it was perfect for us, simply love it!
