Worst of all was the managers tried to get me to pay for two rooms, saying I booked 2. They argued repeatedly when I said “why would one person book 2 rooms” and only after I got my iPad out, which was buried at the bottom of my cars cargo area, did they put me on the phone with the male managers brother, who said I could pay for only one. The room carpet was stained and dirty, the faucet water pressure bad, location right next to the freeway kept me from sleeping; when I was checking in. I asked if I could have an upstairs room because as a single senior age woman I’d be safer in case of break-ins- I saw a dirty shoeless man with a shopping cart in the lot right next door, Even though it was night when I checked in and there were only 3 other cars, I was denied. They said “No, we are full”. They were NOT. The next early morning was far from packed with cars- only four. Terrible experience! There was a hand- made sign in the lobby window saying there was an $80 deposit: I said there was nothing about that on the Expedia site or my receipt. After arguing back and forth about that, they said “OK, forty dollars”. It felt like bargaining at a swap meet. I had to argue and ask repeatedly for a receipt for the room stay until they printed one out. I will of course NEVER stay there again, and NEVER use Expedia again. There was a small room next to the lobby which was obviously for coffee and snacks for guests: I asked if I could get coffee: “No, it’s broken”.
