Just a quick trip - over on the shuttle one day and back the next. so convenient for shopping at Cite d'Europe. We checked in what we thought was early but were upgraded to executive suite as our room wasn't ready!
Needing somewhere to stay for one night before getting to the Tunnel/Shuttle early in the morning, we settled on the Meurice and have no regrets. Room was old-fashioned but with a very comfortable bed and more than adequate en suite facilities. Booking through Expedia meant that our breakfast was included, and this was wide ranging and very substantial. The night porter (Geoffrey?) was most obliging, fluent in English and desperate to leave Calais for good. For myself, I would go back (but just as a convenient last staging post).

Convenient hotel for tunnel, fuel and shops.
Rooms are on the small side but comfortable and clean although could do with updating.
Staff always friendly and helpful.
We have used on several occasions.

Very happy with hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Food very good but fixed menu didnt change when we were there for four nights, however a la carte and bar menu very good. Spa facilities very good and pool wonderful. Room very clean with television showing channels of all languages including BBC. Only odd thing was coffee facilities I room had paper cups but reception quickly provided proper crockery when asked. Ideal base for visiting places from Belgium to northern France. Will definitely use again in the future.
We have used this hotel for a number of years. It was initially chosen because of its proximity to the tunnel but its facilities (old fashioned but comfortable) and excellent and well priced meal options have made it our first choice when travelling to / from Calais.

We were booked in for a Friday night and finding a nearby parking place proved to be a bit of a problem. However, we eventually found something in a side street a few minutes walk from the hotel. Reception was very polite, efficient and friendly and we were soon in our room (2nd floor, front). While not being over large, we had sufficient space for our short stay, and the room was spotless and very comfortable. We had a TV with BBC World News, and the bathroom was very clean with a good hot shower. A buffet style breakfast was available in a bright modern breakfast area, and was much enjoyed. The croissants and pain au chocolat were fresh and tasty, and cheese, ham, cereal, breads, yoghurt, hot and cold drinks, fruit etc were all on offer. The hotel is located in the centre of town, but it is only a short car ride to either the ferry port, or to the Channel Tunnel. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly book again the next time we are in Calais.

Best known as a port and fishing town, Calais has a rich history built around its location at the narrowest point of the English Channel. The ornate Hotel de Ville, the bustling Place des Armes with its ancient Tour de Guet, and the Eglise de Notre Dame are all worth checking out, and the long sandy beaches are popular in the summer. There are numerous opportunities for shopping and eating.
