I use this hotel every time I visit Calais. It is conveniently located in a quiet street with easy free parking in the street in front of the hotel. There are a good selection of restaurants within a few minutes walk and the beach is within easy walking distance (although December is possibly not the best time for sitting on the beach!). The reception staff and friendly and welcoming; they speak excellent English. This hotel has charm!

This property is truly unwelcoming and unreceptive to assisting anyone prebooked prior to Covid 19 and traveling after the world pandemic began. Their attitude NO REFUND.

Dear Molly. Thank you for taking the time to send us your review. We understand the current situation is very difficult and challenging and are therefore permitting all reservations to be cancelled up to hours before arrival regardless of the normal booking conditions. After checking we see that you booked your room on 20th February for arrival on 19th September and we would have happily cancelled your reservation without charge however you requested this at 22h50 the night before your arrival which gave us no option to rebook your room and therefore we were unable to give a refund. Although the interior of the hotel was nicely decorated and the staff were friendly, the lack of air conditioning/ fans in rooms were a real disappointment and left myself and my partner very hot in the rooms. We had to go buy ourselves a €100 Fan just to sleep at night. Before this we had asked the hotel staff if they had any fans, they said no. I feel

Birthday Treat
We stayed for 2 nights on march 9 2020 it was a birthday treat from my wife,the hotel was a 5 minute walk to lots of restaurants & bars located in the central square,the staff were very friendly & helpful & the room was perfect, we never ate there but had a couple of lagers,the only thing i thought was expensive & did not get was the underground parking charge of €10 per night but we managed to park right outside of the hotel on the road.

Hotel Meurice a wonderful place to stay.
Hotel Meurice as always offers a wonderful standard of room,service,kindness and all round quality you would expect from a higher graded hotel.how it is only 3star I do not know.Location ideal,lovely little bar[rum on offer was exceptional],everything ticks the right boxes.Have stayed before and will be staying again.To me the best hotel in Calais.

Best hotel in Calais
Absolutely loved our stay here, although only built in the 1950’s it has a feeling of olde world grandeur. Beautiful fixtures and fittings, especially in the grand room which breakfast is served in. Room was really comfortable (116) and had the biggest bed I’d ever slept in. Really good bathroom with a deep bath. Only niggle was soundproofing was a little poor, there was a family staying in the next room and their 2 children were a little on the loud side. Breakfast at €14 is worth every penny with a large choice of continental items and a great selection of hot items as well. Really looking forward to my best stay here.

Hotel Meurice in Calais 26/11/19
Hotel Meurice in Calais was great. Service, room and breakfast were very good and will definitely go again. The only thing we found was that the room was very hot and could not turn down the heating and the quilt was very heavy - typical hotel - not like we have at home but it was a good room and excellent stay.

This hotel is undoubtedly a `gem`. Although in a rather unprepossessing back street, it is literally 2 minutes walk from central Calais. The decor is very `French`, but clean and interesting. Good buffet breakfast - not cheap at 14 Euros, but good variety and plenty of it. At £50 for a double room, it is exceptional value. The staff speak English and nothing was too much trouble. Parking outside in the street, or garage. Wish I had discovered it before we "Brexit"!!

Best Beds In Calais
Repeat visit, again very pleasant stay, beds are excellent. Well worth paying a little bit more for the room up grade. Staff helpful and pleasant. Hotel ideally situated for walking access to some great restaurants. We will be back. .

Grand hotel in Calais
Easy to find and located near a good selection bars and restaurants. A grand hotel if a little tired now but staff were very friendly and helpful. Room good although the bed was rather on the soft side for us. Maybe it was because our visit was out of season there was plenty of free parking immediately outside.
