The property is OK. The staff are OK. OK shouldn’t be any hotels’ measure of success.
So the area is going through huge transformation, the entire waterfront road is under construction which isn’t the hotels fault (but would have been good to know in advance - that’s on you, Expedia) and the “City view” rooms should read “Construction views with early start audio soundtrack”
Breakfast was more than adequate and a sensible “no reserving sun beds” provided a modicum of pool side chill.
On the downside, there was rotten wood in both the bathrooms, the patio doors would be more soundproof if they were made of cheese cloth and the rest of the staff looked dead behind the eyes in a “for the love of God how long it it until the season ends” kind of way. FairPlay to them, they were all perfectly OK. There’s that OK again.
After trying for 24 hours to try and arrange something to recognise my middle daughter’s birthday- the “experience manager” did get a note and bit of cake into her room on the last night, which we were grateful for.
All in all it was OK. The construction wasn’t their fault. The rooms were tiny, with bad soundproofing and rotten wood in parts. It was a solid OK. Would not return though, OK?
