Last minute booking
It was literally booked on the way driving down from Bosa to Calgiari since we had cancelled another. The hotel was unexpectedly beautiful, with huge pool, peaceful, surrounded by nature, lagoon and offering top quality food and rooms. Parking on the surrounding grounds free and always available. Last but not least to the most polite and very competent English speaking (multi-lingual) staff always ready to be of assistance.

My husband and I really liked this hotel. It was really close to the beach but whenever we wanted something more relaxing went to the pool at the hotel. You can visit Cagliari really easily on a bus. The staff is really friendly and told us where to eat close to the hotel, we recommend Maddalena.

We both really liked the ability to relax around the garden and pool area, around 15 mins each way by bus into Cagliari but well worth it if you enjoy outside space. Also the hotel restaurant evening meal and staff all very good. Suitable for families with young children would also enjoy this hotel. Ken and Annie Lovell UK

Good Hotel, very good reception, good restaurant, but need more staff. Not good position. Terrible maintenance: safe and hairdryer not working, I reported several times but they could not care less.

Very nice hotel except the location was not what we expected from the adverts. It gave the impression of being closer to the beach than it actually was. Otherwise, good service, friendly & helpful staff, perhaps improvement in the cleaning of the bathroom.

The hotel is an oasis in a cultural desert. The hotel is wonderful, staff are wonderful but you DO need a car to get out and about. The hotel could do with a few things to keep everybody occupied apart from sunbathing and the lovely pool, maybe a boules area, table tennis, something like that but overall as I say it is a lovely hotel.

Good hotel near to main town and a beach
On arrival the hotel looked good, and was easy to locate. As we booked in, the man on reception was very welcoming, helpful,and polite . We were upgraded to a bigger room which was a bonus. The room was a good size, loads of wardrobe space( though a few more hangers would have been handy but you could ask for more). Bathroom was big and well equipped, whole lot was really clean.Bed was very comfortable and the air-con worked perfectly. I did request another pillow, and this was brought to the room within minutes. There was also a fridge which was handy. Only downside was only 1 plug socket that we could use to charge our phones etc. Breakfast is over a good time period, from 7am till 10.30am which was great, and for a continental style there really was a good choice of food. Gardens beautiful, pool good, towels for pool from reception a nice touch, as is the free chilled water outside. we never ate lunch or dinner in the hotel so cannot comment on that aspect. All in all I was very pleased with the hotel, if you can live with the fact that the general area around it is fairly industrial, and not many eating places within walking distance, it is fine... very quiet and tranquil. We mostly drove into Cagliari to eat in the evening. Car parking was free and plenty of it aswell.

Hotel was ideal for a three night stay exploring Cagliari and the beautiful beaches around there. Poetto beach near Cagliari and the scenic coastal drive near Chia we’re both beautiful. The hotel was fine. The pool area was very nice and quiet. There are not too many places to eat nearby.

Good hotel, poor surroundings
This is a very nice hotel but in poor surroundings. The hotel itself is clean, modern, good pool and facilities and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The inclusive breakfast was also good. The location lets it down because it is in a somewhat residential/industrial area and whilst the beach is close and there are a few restaurants within walking distance, as well as a supermarket, there is little else. So our advise is to hire a car otherwise your choice is limited. Views at the back of the hotel are lovely, looking out to the mountains but from the front, you can see the industrial port on one side and refinery on the other. That said, because we hired a car, we enjoyed our time here.

The hotel itself we found absolutely fine - nice clean rooms and staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice big pool (if a little tired). The surrounding area isn’t that great/ interesting - there’s a local shopping centre and a pizza place and bar nearby - but the hotel is 20mins to Cagliari and 30-40mins to the beautiful (but busy - August!) beaches at Chia.

Worth a visit - would recommend.
This was a great hotel to stay for 4 nights whilst waiting to move into a villa. We had a good triple room with a beautiful garden view and a large bathroom. The room was clean and breakfast (free) was okay too. There was secure car parking and a great pool. It shut 1-4pm though. We would recommend this hotel to others. A decent 4 star hotel.

Lovely pool, friendly staff, little culture.
The hotel is perfectly nice, with a really great pool area set in pretty gardens. There was always a pool lounger available when we wanted one, and as we frequently wanted one, we were happy. The room was spacious, had a mini-fridge with freezer compartment and plenty of storage space. Our balcony faced the sea (and thus also the busy road, but it didn't really disturb us). The staff were very friendly, especially Carlo, and happily booked us a table at the one and only decent restaurant across the street. The hotel is right next to a mini shopping centre, with a good sized supermarket. The local area is nothing to write home about; the beach is within walking distance and there are two beach bars, but it isn't one of Sardinia's most scenic spots. We only ate out twice, but the food in the hotel, whilst adequate, is not their strong point. Breakfast buffet was disappointing, unless you really like mini-croissants. You can catch the local bus into Cagliari if you want to, it's pretty simply but beware that the trip home is much longer than the trip there due to a bizarre route! Overall, we were happiest lounging by the lovely pool, but if we returned to Sardinia, we would go further along the coast to a better resourced town.

Hotel with pool, 15 mins from Cagliari.
Nice hotel with swimming pool, which was fab. About 20mins drive to Cagliari, look out for flamingos on the way. Shopping centre with supermarket across road was handy, as was free parking. Couple of minutes from the beach but we didn't check it out, went to Poetto instead, 30mins away, nice but busy. Lovely terrace at hotel with good views. Breakfast good selection of cold food, fruit etc. Lovely welcoming staff on desk with free welcome drink and free use of first mini fridge was welcome surprise! And nice toiletries by Nuxe. Didn't appear to be much else in Capoterra though. Take mosquito repellent as we had lots of bites staying here!

20 minutes or so from the airport. 20 minutes drive to the town by bus and they run regularly. 5 minutes to a beach, lovely for evening or morning strolls. Food in the hotel is lovely, had a wonderful 3 course meal, probably the best food I had on my trip!

Our stay at the hotel was pleasant. We were given two joint rooms with balcony. We enjoyed the space and comfortable beds. Breakfast was ok although we had to keep asking staff to replenished food items and cutlery, for this purpose staff number and efficiency could be improved. Bar products such as hot drinks were unnecessarily expensive. Staff at the reception were reasonably friendly although they would sometimes fail to handle priorities very effectively staying too long at the phone at the expense of people waiting at the counter instead of perhaps making note of the phone number and returning the call shortly after helping guests with their daily queries or needs. The hotel was clean with a good size enjoyable swimming pool, the sun shaders at pool side were not very strong as they were often blown away by the strong breeze. Overall our experience was positive since the basic provisions and facilities were offered.

Good hotel close to the beach
A good hotel relies on great staff and they don't get much better than this! They are so helpful - nothing is ever too much trouble. They kindly upgraded our room for us on arrival which was much appreciated. The hotel is clean, well maintained and the beach is just a 5-10 minute walk away. Beach loungers and sun shades at "Cayo Loco" can be hired at a discounted rate through reception. The area is safe and ideal for small children. Eating out is easy and affordable with all restaurants speaking some english. The food we ate was really good and ordering couldn't be easier. Restaurants open from 20:00 each evening and I'd recommend that you explore the local eateries rather than eat from the hotel's limited à la carte menu. There is an excellent high-end fish restaurant called Sa Cardiga e Su Schironi which we ate at twice. It's a 5 minute walk from the hotel and you won't be disappointed... Even the beach bar at Cayo Loco is great - just try the Brushetta for lunch along with the local Ichnusa beer. A bit further up the beach is "La Bitta" - which serves excellent pasta and general seafood. They do a good bowl of mussels, and a Tiramisu. In fact the Tiramisu was so light it started floating away! We had a great holiday here - hope you do too.

The hotel was advertised as `several minutes from the sea'. It took us about 25 minutes going under the sun to the sea crossing the main road with lots of traffic. The hotel has an agreement with a small beach where you have to pay for everything. The area around this beach is covered by trash. Since my wife was sick we decided to stay 3 nights from 10 and change the hotel. I phoned and got through to Orbitz where we paid for this hotel. They said that the money had been paid to the hotel and advised to talk to the manager. The manager did not yield a bit and charged full price for 10 days.

Nothing to eat for brekfast. On the other hand great pastries, so if pastries and coffee is a breakfast for you you will love it. There are No juices served but poor substitutes

Not quite what we thought
Me and my wife stayed here for a week, bed and breakfast late August 2016. We got a taxi from the airport which costed a fair bit, a bus would have been a lot cheaper. There's a local shopping area nearby and pizzeria with cafe next door which was really nice. We walked to the beach which was about 5 mins walk away. The hotel had a really nice pool area and was where we spent most of our time.

Nice hotel- quiet location
First impressions of the hotel were very high! We were upgraded from a standard room to a superior with two balconies- the views of the surrounding area were amazing! The hotel is very clean- you always see the housekeeping staff and maintenance cleaning areas and making it very pleasurable to stay. The staff are very friendly and made us laugh and smile every time we saw them- real Italian hospitality! Th location is 30mins out of Cagliari so is very quiet and peaceful. There are lots of excursions to do which the front desk staff are happy to help you book but we did ours before we arrived. The staff on front desk are wonderful and nothing is ever too much for them. The restaurant is a bit expensive (as is the area) for the portion size you receive. The "maialino arrosto" is absolutely delicious and definitely worth a try! There is a supermarket opposite the hotel but I think if you come to this area you need to speak very good Italian- the locals were not as friendly as other Italian destinations and laughed at us when we tried to speak Italian- something we have not experienced before the hotel staff were also very shocked about this.There is a very nice and hospitable restaurant nearby called Sa Cardiga e Su Schironi- it is a bit expensive but we felt the food and hospitality was absolutely worth it! We LOVED this hotel and the staff but the locals spoil it with their lack of hospitality. We would stay again but only for a few days.

Enjoyed a short 5 night stay in July - reception staff extremely helpful and friendly with plenty of information. Nice ground floor room overlooking the good size, very clean pool, lovely garden area with plenty of sunbeds and areas of shade. Hotel is only two storeys high, so feels small and friendly. Good breakfast, pastries very nice and nice touch was the whole honeycomb which was delicious. Found the dinner menu a little limited but the BBQ evening was very good. We didn't find many restaurants within walking distance, but when I mentioned this in feedback, the manager said he could provide us with a list of all the local eateries. Beach only a 10 minute walk and was very nice (although the sea a bit cold !) Good bus service into Cagliari and cheap, not loads to see here but a nice day out walking round the town (shame about all the graffiti) - the Botanical Gardens are very interesting. The hotel is not in a typical holiday resort, the area is mainly residential and industrial, but the hotel makes up for this. Bit disappointed that the last bus back from Cagliari is only at 9.20 p.m. as would have been nice to stay and eat there, but apparently the locals are trying to change this. Just across from the Hotel is a small shopping mall, with supermarket and pharmacy etc., which was very useful. Would recommend for a relaxing, quiet break, if staying longer recommend hiring a car to explore the island.

We had a lovely week at the Santa Lucia , staff were friendly and could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was average continental. The pool and gardens are beautiful, the hotel is very quiet with no organised entertainment in the evenings . Great place to use as a base when exploring south west coast , but you need a car and parking is free in the hotel grounds. There is very little in terms of restaurants close by.The shopping centre is within 5 mins walk where you can pick up basic food stuff and has a pharmacy.The beach which is in walking distance is not the most scenic and does not feature the clear blue waters of Pula or CHIA a short distance by car. However two lovely beach bars which were lively in the evenings and served good snacks. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Maria & Martyn
