Great hotel, near the beach & the old town

Posted 15-Mar-2017
We chose to upgrade to a junior suite. Two shower/ bathrooms made for a very comfortable stay. All the staff were delightful. Breakfast was good, especially freshly cooked omelettes. Very good position, quiet, but near the town. Lovely restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic hotel

Posted 01-Mar-2017
Pros: Location, views and general design.
Cons: Clear away breakfast dishes. Kettle in room.....
Location: Cadiz is fantastic to walk around. Had a great meal at Ultramar and Nos. Visit Jerez and loved it also Medina Sidonia.
Really enjoyed our two night stay. Great hotel, particularly loved design, size and layout of room, great views. Also loved the view points on either side of corridor which was wide and bright. Didn't experience any difficulties with the lighting as some customers appear to. Breakfast was good, again fab view. Although there appeared to be very few staff around with dishes being left on table, unusual for such a hotel. Only real gripe, no kettle in room! Great location, easy to park. Would happily recommend.

Beautiful, modern hotel but restaurant menu tired

Posted 20-Jan-2017
Pros: The design
Cons: Restaurant menu. Do not recommend children. The balcony's are low and have tables and chairs. It would be concerning in summer with doors open.
Location: Most good restaurants walking distance. Worth driving to Jerez for the bodegas. Museums are great most free.
This hotel is beautifully designed. It is very modern with very interesting artistic features. The rooms have amazing views and are comfortable and well appointed. The showers are very efficient. Storage is also very cleverly designed. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the main restaurant. The menu is uninspiring, dull and not fit for the internatinal nature of the guests hence the fact in four days we only saw one couple dining in this large area. The cafe/bar fairs better and that is where most people tend to congregate. Service is good and the food is not bad but again could offer a more modern cuisine to match the ambience. It is worth staying here just to experience the wonderful decor. Everywhere you sit is comfortable, light and attractive.

Expectations of hotel not quite met.

Posted 04-Jan-2017
Good convenient location. Front desk staff need to be more customer focussed. I stood at the front desk to request info and staff were just doing their work and responsive to a customer. Also talking to each other while checking us in. Bar staff at the back bar area facing the sea front were quite sullen in expression. Our room was serviced but used drinking glasses not washed. There did not appear to be a hotel shop.

Not a bad place to stay

Posted 30-Nov-2016 on Hotels
It is a nice place but just not my kind of place. The room for instance is so modern that it gets unconfortable. The hotel is located in the norther tip of Cadiz which is good if you are for the sea but not if your plan is to walk the city. I choose the hotel because there is parking in the property but now that I know the city, I would rather stay closer to the center and park in any of the city facilities. They cost more or less the same.

Luxury hotel with a few things lacking

Posted 16-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Room was very comfortable, extremely quiet and had a lovely view over the sea. There were several things in the room that required maintenance (e.g. handle of terrace door broken, shower door not opening properly, light bulbs needing changing). Breakfast was good. Restaurant was disappointing. Staff were okay but not the best service we received whilst in Spain.

Cons: There should be a concierge and a bell boy to help on arrival.
Location: Excellent location
Beautiful hotel but seems understaffed. No one helped us with the luggage on arrival and the service in the restaurant was poor. Hope this is not indicative of all Paradore hotels! Pool and buffet breakfast excellent. Beds not great!

Modern and Picturesque

Posted 27-Sep-2016 on Hotels
Sinks are small and create a lot of splashing. Also the motion sensor closet lights do not stay on long enough. There was also a wedding on Saturday night, and guests were loud/partying until 8am, which did not allow us to rest that night/morning, and we were very tired/late to get the day started as a result (including missing the breakfast)

Modern, spotless

Posted 24-Sep-2016
Pros: Very Clean, pools, sea views, friendly staff and easy to find
Cons: More information/choice of bathroom layout, nothing mentioned on website about bathrooms.
Location: Convenient for old Cadiz, nice promenade walk.
Not your typical Parador, this one was very modern with great sea views, a fantastic pool area(floating beds were great) as was the jacuzzi which I had all to myself. Check in time is between 2-3pm which we thought was a bit odd and if you were going to be later you would have to let them know, we were later due to slight flight delay and therefore phoned, but this was not a problem. We arrived at 15.10, but our room wasn't ready, so they gave us a voucher for a drink in the bar while we waited. We were on the Half Board deal, good choice from the menu, but this did not change all week, so by the end of the week we had tried everything. Rooms were clean, but the open plan bathroom was a bit short of space for toiletries etc and the sliding glass door to the toilet left little to the imagination of the person lying in bed with full view (this is my only complaint), not sure if all the rooms are laid out like ours was. Bat was huge, like a floatation tank. Beds comfortable with lovely crisp white sheets. Staff very friendly and helpful. Easy to find, just follow the coast road into Cadiz.
