Perfect in every way

Posted 05-Oct-2017
Pros: Location is perfect
Cons: A wider choice of pool-side lunch.
The check-in process was straight forward - our room was ready despite arriving a little before the "official" check-in time. The room was great - very modern, terrific views and very quiet. We had a light lunch by the pool - a very limited menu (the main restaurant had a wider choice) but pleasant enough. The pools are amazing! Breakfast the next day was good - plenty of choice and a Nespresso machine to make your own hot coffee. Definitely stay again - and thoroughly recommended.

Nice hotel with great sea views

Posted 17-Sep-2017
We stayed at Parador de Cadiz for two nights during our honeymoon as our "splash out" for the trip as it was also my birthday on the day we checked in. Honestly? It's nice but for the money it cost, pretty average. Rooms are nice, but nothing so special as to justify the cost. There is no privacy screens on the balcony from over guests, so when you sit out there, you look right into your neighbours room, and are practically touching them if they're also on their balcony. The pool is nice, but don't even think about buying a drink down there, which is pure extortion. We found the staff and the counter to be quite rude, which was a shame. The buffet breakfast was quite good and probably the most worthwhile part of the hotel. I wouldn't recommend staying as I think you can very easily get something much better for your money down the road.

City & beach break

Posted 15-Sep-2017
Pros: Location is perfect 10 min walk to either beach or town the hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel facilities are very good.
Cons: Room service is missing we went out for the day and returned to find that our room had not been tended
Location: Very close to the beach and town with local historic attractions on the door step
We went to Cadiz for a two night break and enjoyed it a lot. I would recommend as I do on all city breaks to take the city bus tour as this helps you orientate yourself and enables you to list your must see attractions in order so as not to miss anything. We stayed at the Parador which is ideally placed for beach and city not more than a ten min flat walk to the heart of either the hotel is clean with friendly helpful staff with very good leisure facilities. If you want the fresh fish I would suggest a lunch rather than an evening meal as we struggled to get decent sea food at night in the town most places were only serving tapas on an evening.

Great Location for Exploring Old Cadiz

Posted 09-Sep-2017
Pros: Ultra modern, clean, & friendly
Cons: Nothing
Location: Old Town centre is 5 - 10 minute walk and whole area feels safe
Very nice hotel, pricey by comparison to other hotels but the location is faultless for the ocean views, closeness to the Old City and its fantastic seafood and tapas restaurants nearby. Excellent buffet breakfast, friendly chick-in and out, helpful concierge. Decking and pool area very impressive with 3 infinity and spa-like pools, plus one indoor. Our 2 night stay was perfect to experience Cadiz.

Unusual modern hotel on the promenade looking out to sea. we had a lovely view out to sea & over the pools. The pools were fab 1 swimming pool /2 pools to lay on water sunbeds in. Also a large Jacuzzi pool really great to come back to after visiting the old city.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted 20-Jul-2017
Pros: Like I said, mostly, this hotel was great. It was clean, modern, close to the city center, close to the beach, close to the train station.
Cons: Some of the hotel staff needs to be trained in customer service.
Location: Beach, city center, lots of restaurants.
This hotel was mostly great but there were a few things that make me think twice if I would stay here. There was some great hotel staff, like Arturo, who checked me in and took me up to my room to show me how everything worked, recommend some places to see and restaurants. Very friendly. The Pool (Franco?) bartender and lifeguards were all nice and friendly. My problems were one day the made placed my clean shower towels on top of the bidet. This is where people clean their butt's after taking a poop. I am a RN and this, to me, was a huge infection control issue. Secondly, the staff at the breakfast were supposed to offer you a pot of coffee (they did on the first day, after I had finished my breakfast), but the 2nd day I had to get up and go ask someone because he ignored me and never checked on me, the 3rd day the lady did as well, and yet, there was only myself at a table and one other table with two people. She didn't bother to check on either table. She even went into the other room to laugh and talk with the server for that room. Thirdly, at the bar/restaurant downstairs, the lady tried to sell me a premium gin and tonic with only a little bit of alcohol in the bottle and she said "that's all we have". I had to tell her to just get me a different gin, so I could have the drink how it's supposed to be made.

Hit and Miss

Posted 08-Jul-2017
Pros: I liked the contemporary feel, I liked the location.. easy to walk to beach and to the old part of the city.
Cons: Service people at the restaurants and the maids
Location: It is close to the beach and the old part of the city. Close to the train station.
Overall this hotel was great, but there were a few things that happened that will make me reconsider staying here. The maid placed my bath towels on top of the bidet (yes, where people wash their dirty bums after taking a pooh), which I find very unsanitary. I'm a RN and the top of the bidet is not where I want my towels after washing my body. The second issue was the staff in the breakfast dining room. The first morning, someone came up to me at the end of my breakfast asking me if I wanted a pot of coffee, and since I love coffee so much I said "yes" even though I was pretty much done. The next morning I was eating my breakfast and I saw 2 breakfast staff just standing around, so after half my breakfast was done I came up to one of them and asked for the pot of coffee (I had seen them serve a few tables and the room wasn't even half full). On the 3rd morning, there was only myself and one other table with two people at it. There was a staff person in the room and she didn't help either table. I then saw her go to the other room and just socialize and laugh with another staff person working that room. 3rd issue was at the bar/restaurant. I asked for a certain gin and tonic and she brought it to my and told me it was the last bottle. She poured it in my glass and it wasn't even near a full shot. I said to please bring me another kind, and she acted insulted that I didn't want the one she poured. I'm not paying that much for a drink when it doesn't even much alcohol.
