Excellent hotel in good location

Posted 17-Oct-2017
Location: Enjoyable 15-20 min walk along seafront into old town. Few restaurants nearby so feels more of a slog in the evening.
Large, clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly and efficient staff. Excellent range of quality food and drink at breakfast. Public areas immacualte and all finished to a high standard.

Comfortable hotel with friendly/ efficient staff.

Posted 23-Jul-2017
Pros: The staff and the situation.
Cons: The bar is an offshoot of the breakfast room and as such has a slightly clinical aspect which is not enticing late evening though the service is excel
Location: On the main road 10/15 mins from city with all it's glorious sights and social life.
Stayed for nearly a week for rest, relaxation, sights and beach. Hotel is ideally situated for all these things and the staff in reception and elsewhere were invariably friendly and helpful in supporting and advising us. Hotel is very close to beach (and will lend beach towels for a deposit) and on a frequent bus route to the main parts of the city (which in any case is only 10/15 mins walk away. Breakfast is a splendid buffet with dishes, cold and hot, promptly replenished as necessary. Weather was perfect!

The real Cadiz

Posted 27-Jun-2017 on Hotels
The hotel is one block from a beautiful beach in Cadiz. There is also a supermarket next door which is great. The hotel is very clean. The safe did not work and was not fixed till later the next day of our stay and the keys to the room failed to work several times. The breakfast was great with a large variety of food. Overall, the hotel is fine. Not luxery but clean and comfortable. The hotel is not in a resort area, more like in a business area on a busy street. But it was really nice to be with local residents of Cadiz, all who love their beach- and were still arriving in the evening!

Potentailly a great hotel dissapointing bar

Posted 22-Jun-2017 on Hotels
We booked the hotel mainly for the location and the look of the rooms and public areas. Pro's: Room was fantastic. Large bright and very comfortable with a really good bathroom. Location was perfect for both the Old town and the more commercial areas Staff were really helpful, friendly and all spoke really good English The hotel has ample underground parking which was allocated and ready for us even though we arrived at midday. There is one of the best restaurants we have ever used (La Despensa) just five minutes walk away. Cons: The public areas have been refurbished and they are now VERY different to the photos on the website. It's all very bright and modern and white! The bar and restaurant are totally clinical and lifeless. It's all stark and white and very uninviting. It has the look and feel of a cafeteria. I can't understand why anyone would want to use them, we certainly didn't feel comfortable calling in for a last drink after dinner in a local restaurant. Breakfast is also served in the restaurant and for this it works OK. The food at breakfast is fairly standard but proved a good start to the day. We would certainly use the hotel again but at least now we are know that we won't expect to spend any time in the hotel other than in the bedroom.

Cool and calm hotel well-placed for everything

A very nice hotel. About a 15 minute walk to the old town in one direction and to the restaurant and hotel that Rick Stein went to in the other. Friendly cafes, a decent supermarket and the beach with sun beds just round the corner. We loved Cádiz!
