I am not going to feed you any crap, I am sure I've stayed in every 4-5 Star hotel in the Dominican Republic if not all 95% of them. Truth be told, it isn't much in Cabarete unless you choose the Millennium Resort. This place had me speechless. This is not a regular residence/hotel in the DR where "anybody" can come inside. First, it's a gigantic gate, so to enter the place Security has to open the gate. I have never seen this before, it made me feel safe, I am over 200lbs of Solid Tiger Muscle so I roam around DR by myself anyway but if you wanted that extra security it is here. The rooms are breathe taking, I was shocked at the size of the rooms and the views. This place compares to some of the nicer places in America, apartment wise. The staff is excellent, not like other places where you are standing at reception talking to someone who only knows 25 words in English. The only downfall that might possibly have me looking at other places to live is that this place has no restaurant. So, you'll have to walk or catch a cab for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That is the only negative aspect of it. The lady that works at the desk did give us a number for a restaurant that delivers, but we called and they didn't deliver at all. I did not go on vacation to cook over an over, not happening! If you don't mind buying groceries and cooking this place will fit you well. You can assume I ate out everyday. I am not sure this is classified as a Hotel, I think it is closer to an Apartment.
Very good small hotel. Nice rooms. It's not the kind of fancy hotel, but right in front of the ocean. The pool is small but nice. The beach is like Cabarete, so it has waves. This is not Punta Cana or B Chica, this beach has some waves all over. If you kite, surf or windsurf, you'll love this. The only bad thing I noticed is that the TV signal was not very good, and in some channels the audio would be in English and Spanish at the same time, so you couldn't understand anything. However, I barely turned it on, for a few minutes for the baby.
I think there were only 2 units occupied in the 8 unit building. The apartment was spacious and clean and had place for our family of 5 to sleep, hang out, watch movies, and get away from each other. The terrace was gorgeous. The beach isn't fantastic, but the water was warm, the waves just right and the kites all around. it'a a half hour walk from town - walk only on the beach, and a cab ride back. Lovely.
Stayed with a family member for a week. We had 2 different rooms and both enjoyed our stay. Hotel is comparatively simple, quiet and right on the beach. It's safe and the staff is friendly. Andres makes great morning coffee + breakfast and helps get taxis and answers questions (in Spanish.)
The garden is kept incredibly neat and tidy. Walking around barefoot is no problem. Lovely experience.

Cabarete is a small town on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, about 20 minutes from the international airport. The reef at the bay’s entrance, backdrop of low-lying hills, and the prevailing direction of the trade winds combine to make the town a mecca for windsurfers, kite-surfers, and other water sports enthusiasts. Cabarete also has a great beach for sunbathing.
