Perfect for a quick weekend away

Posted 24-Jun-2016 on Wotif
In Byron for just the one night for a function, the LBR was the perfect place to spend a night or 2. 1 door away from our initial destination for the night, then a easy walk into the heart of town for late night activitities. Room was comfortable, and we where pleasantly surprised that unlike some recent stays elsewhere, the rooms had been updated in the last 10 years since we last stayed.

Convenient location

This hotel is great if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room. Located about 10min walk from the main beach, shops and restaurants, it's great if you want a cost efficient stay but there is no ambience to the hotel. Staff are perfectly pleasant and room perfunctory, definitely a budget find.

Basic

Basic place to stay. Does the job. Close to the centre of Byron. Overpriced for what it has to offer.

Would not stay here again!

Posted 17-Apr-2016 on Lastminute
This hotel is cheap and is in a good location however: It is on a main road and the windows are very thin and so you can hear cars/ trucks going past day and night. You can also hear people in their rooms next door talking and showering so the rooms are very noisy. There is no lift or hotel staff to help carry bags up to the rooms and there is lots of stairs which makes it very hard, especially with a pram it is impossible to carry the pram by yourself plus a baby up and down the stairs. And it was really hard to get suitcases up lots of stairs. The pool which says is heated is not and is very cold. There was lots of small ants in the rooms, all over the bathroom sink when we woke up each morning as well as in microwave area. We would not stay here again.

Close enough but not too close

Posted 04-Apr-2016 on Wotif
Pros: Location, comfy bed and great shower.
Cons: Reduce noise in the morning, and sort out the ant-like situation.
Location: Short walk to the beach and main part of town but not too far. A little walk to the closest shops but a Safeway was nearby.
This place was great, comfy bed, renovated bathroom with a great shower and also a decent TV with foxtel for down time. The staff were relatively friendly. Only worries would be a problem with little ant-like insects in some parts of the room and being woken up around 9am every morning by the cleaning staff. Otherwise a nice room, a little walk to the beach but not too close which helped avoid the noise of the busy nights. Would stay there again.
