Relaxing with nature

Posted 19-Jan-2016
Pros: The unique character and surroundings were peaceful and relaxing. Yet within easy reach of the bustling town.
Cons: Wouldn't like it to change.
Location: Byron Bay beautiful beaches, countryside and little towns and markets all around. Busy nightlife and restaurants of Byron.
Planula was a really relaxing environment. This location transported us to a lush haven. Everything was lovely and in keeping with the setting. Although the surroundings were natural the accommodation was right up-to-date. We had a few days of rain, but no greyness, all the palms creating a lovely setting. For breakfast the owners supplied freshly made pastries, various muffins and or home made bread, this provided a really enjoyable and relaxed start to each day. I felt that they really cared about their guests, whilst not intruding. Our room and bathroom was very clean and spacious and flyscreens meant we had good ventilation whilst keeping any creepy crawlies out. A beautiful setting including the sight of water dragons and the sounds of frogs at night made this a great experience for me. We drove just a short distance (5 minutes) into Byron each day. All areas were easily accessible to explore. I am so glad that we didn't stay in one of the more usual hotels right in the town.

Beautiful location, out of town

Posted 04-Nov-2015 on Hotels
The hotel is surrounded by beautiful trees, with a pond with frogs. It gives a very relaxing, remote feeling without being too far from town if you have a car. The rooms are big and comfortable, but the cleaning failed during our stay. I would still recommend it.

The room was nice comfortable and clean Situated a beautiful wooded environment whilst still being relatively close enough to to the Byron Bay Centre and the beaches.

Stayed with my mum & sister to go to the Byron Bay Writers Festival. Perfect location as 5 min drive & walkable too. Lovely accommodation in comfortable rooms with breakfast. Wendy was a wonderful hostess.

Great B&B in a calming 'Rainforest' setting.

Pros: We loved the setting. Close to Byron Bay centre but with a feeling of being miles away from any hustle and bustle. Totally relaxing atmosphere.
Location: Close to Byron Bay and all it has to offer e.g. Cafes, beaches, shops and also to other great spots such as Bangalow, Newrybar and Brunswick Heads.
Relaxing stay at Planula. All expectations met adequately from delicious continental breakfasts in the morning to cosy slow combustion fire at night. Wandy and Tim were very welcoming and most hospitable. Lovely people and great hosts. We felt very much at home.

Peaceful getaway

Posted 21-Jul-2015 on Lastminute
The perfect experience for a recharge from the everyday. Planula was warm and welcoming for our windy weekend with logfires, extra blankets and hot showers. Wide windows ensure plenty of light and breeze would flow through in summer. A generous breakfast including homemade muffins, fresh juice and plunger coffee was shared around the kitchen table. A great start before heading off to enjoy all that Byron and surrounds have to offer. Wandy's hospitality was genuine and natural. We will happily return!

We enjoyed our stay with Wandy she was so nice. Lit a beautiful fire every night and made fresh blueberry muffins for breakfast. Very comfortable kitchen and lounge room, a very enjoyable stay
