Convenient and Peaceful

Posted 08-Dec-2016 on Hotels
I was there to attend a retreat at Temple Byron and the b&b was perfect for that. My upstairs room got a bit too hot on the first two days despite cross ventilation and a ceiling fan. But rain on the third day turned things around.

Lovely, tucked out of the way B&B!

Posted 11-Nov-2016 on Hotels
We loved our visit here. Wendy and Tim are wonderful hosts and the location is so pretty. It's nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Byron Bay. The kitchen and family areas are very comfortable and you can be sure you'll be sharing your coffee on the terrace with the local wildlife!

Idyllic B&B

Posted 27-Sep-2016 on Wotif
Planula is a gorgeous B&B, nestled among bush land. It is minutes from central Byron and the beaches, but having your own car is fairly essential to get around. Tim and Wandy are excellent hosts, and the freshly baked muffins, banana bread etc. set off the continental breakfast nicely. Being a B&B, the kitchen, TV, lounge etc. are shared facilities, and you will get to meet your fellow guests over a morning cup of coffee. The rooms are large and comfortable.

Backpackerish

Posted 15-Apr-2016 on Wotif
Pros: The setting is lovely. Proximity to Byron would be a plus if it's important to you.
Cons: Proper breakfast. Shower soap/gel.
Location: Byron Bay and everything it has to offer is just 5 minutes away.
The garden is beautiful and serene. The rooms were clean and quite nice, but the place reminded me of a backpackers hostel. Very little privacy; lots of shared facilities. We skipped breakfast altogether, because we didn't feel like a small yogurt, some fruit and breakfast cereal. We paid extra for the spa room. At the price we paid, we expected a little more. There are other places nearby (especially in the Hinterland) that offer better value for money.

Relaxing with nature

Posted 19-Jan-2016
Pros: The unique character and surroundings were peaceful and relaxing. Yet within easy reach of the bustling town.
Cons: Wouldn't like it to change.
Location: Byron Bay beautiful beaches, countryside and little towns and markets all around. Busy nightlife and restaurants of Byron.
Planula was a really relaxing environment. This location transported us to a lush haven. Everything was lovely and in keeping with the setting. Although the surroundings were natural the accommodation was right up-to-date. We had a few days of rain, but no greyness, all the palms creating a lovely setting. For breakfast the owners supplied freshly made pastries, various muffins and or home made bread, this provided a really enjoyable and relaxed start to each day. I felt that they really cared about their guests, whilst not intruding. Our room and bathroom was very clean and spacious and flyscreens meant we had good ventilation whilst keeping any creepy crawlies out. A beautiful setting including the sight of water dragons and the sounds of frogs at night made this a great experience for me. We drove just a short distance (5 minutes) into Byron each day. All areas were easily accessible to explore. I am so glad that we didn't stay in one of the more usual hotels right in the town.
