Quiet Motel with lovely staff

Posted 11-Jul-2016
Pros: Great staff Very clean and comfortable rooms Easy location
Cons: A Breakfast hamper could help
Location: I was only there this time for work
The Sunseeker is a great find in Byron. The staff/owners were friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. The cat as front door welcoming committee added just the right touch. If I return to Byron for work or pleasure the Sunseeker is definitely where I will stay.

Stayed in a self contained cabin down the back near the pool area. Very easy to access and parking not a problem. Peaceful, couldn't hear any road noise. Mattresses were comfortable. I'll stay here again.

A bit disappointing

Posted 18-Apr-2016 on Wotif
Pros: The cost
Cons: The carpet was stuck down with blue tape along the edge. It needs more power points especially in the bedrooms
Location: Its a bit far out of town so had to drive in. We went and saw the lighthouse at sunrise and the Crystal Castle was close by too
The room was very dated and needed some repairs. We were only staying one night so it didn't matter. And we got a cheap deal so you get whatyou pay for. We wouldn't have gone if we had to pay more so it suited our budget. The beds were very comfortable though and we slept very well. There were no power points in the bedrooms which was a bit inconvenient as there was no clock either. The man at the front desk was really friendly and helpful. We would stay again in the same circumstances but probably not for a longer period of time

Peaceful hideaway

Posted 12-Apr-2016 on Wotif
Pros: The tropical garden setting was lovely, as was our cabin.
Cons: Would have preferred a larger bed.
Location: Cape Byron Lighthouse - most easterly point of the mainland - is a must-see.
Expecting Byron to be hectic, being just after Bluesfest, we chose to stay slightly out of town - only a couple of minutes drive away. This place was ideal for us - we had a self-contained cabin - but there are also motel-style rooms overlooking the pool.

Was very impressed with this motel staff amazing!!

When we arrived we found the staff very friendly and accomodating. We had an upstairs room overlooking the pool. The room was well equipped and clean. We stayed here for three nights initially then we booked a further five nights here after a three night break as we were here for a wedding at a different location. On our return we were able to enter the room before the check in time and found they had given us the same room as before which we had asked for if possible. It would be advisable to hire a car for this location as the town is a good 25 minute walk, but nevertheless is doable. They have a lovely secured pool area and also a barbecue area to use. Cannot fault this place at all and would recommend to anyone.

good stay in Byron

Posted 26-Mar-2016 on Hotels
We stayed in one of the cottages, it was comfortable and more spacious than we expected. It was extremely clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. While an older motel, everything was well maintained and furniture, paint jobs, etc all appeared to be fresh and new. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

I called nervous from Cairns around 7pm to let the lady at the desk last minute that I would be getting to the hotel late. She told me my unit number and that she would leave the light on, room open and mil in the fridge for coffee in the morning. She also told be to drive carefully which really calmed me down since I was nervous to drive on the left. Got to the Hotel at midnight and was great to have everything I needed to relax. Debra was great the next morning telling me where to go and what to see. Loved this Motel and the people that work in it. Highly recommend it.
