Weekend break

Posted 08-Jun-2017
We had a lovely stay here at the end of May. We were made very welcome by Jack and Tracey, including a cup of tea and slice of cake. The area was beautiful and Jack and Tracey were very friendly and helpful to us with advice about local attractions and eateries. The breakfast was superb, best scrambled egg I have had in a hotel! A thoroughly enjoyable time and we would love to return at some point in the future. Claire and Mark

Such a peaceful place

Posted 05-Jun-2017
Pros: The location and the quality of the rooms.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: Within easy reach of the A14 and Bury St. Edmunds.
Set in the peaceful Suffolk countryside the Old Barn was a wonderful place to stay. Everything was designed to make our stay as relaxing as possible. The location could not be better set far enough away from the main A14 not to be noticed but within easy striking distance when you needed it. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

Character, comfort, great breakfasts

Posted 24-May-2017
Location: Lots of walking available right from the B&B.
This was one of the best accommodations I have had during my two months of travelling. Clean, comfortable, good breakfasts with choices of fresh fruit to put on cereal, of which there was a large selection to choose from too. Good cooked breakfasts as well. My room was spacious with lots of character from the old converted barn. Comfortable bed. There are walks that can be done on paths through the countryside leaving from near the B&B, so the car can be left in the car park, with no worry of where to park. The car park has plenty of room. The only small negative was that the wi-fi could have been faster. Not the worst wi-fi I have had during these travels, but not the best either.

Fabulous barn conversion

Posted 19-May-2017
Pros: It is spotlessly clean. Lounge with fridge. Outside seating. Huge comfortable bed. Breakfast had everything you could possibly want or need. Fab.
Cons: No nothing thank you.
Location: Rougham church. Bury St Edmunds. Local pubs for good food. Otherwise the best part is being in the middle of nowhere with peace and quiet.
What a find. The barn conversion is amazing. Our hosts were welcoming, offering to make us a drink on arrival. There is a seating area in the atrium which is tastefully decorated. Outside are two seating areas overlooking fields. Upstairs is a lounge with jigsaws games and books as well as a fridge. Our room was downstairs with a huge bed. Clock, TV tea making, water. All very thoughtful additions. Bath towels are huge and fluffy. Not very far from Bury but car essential. Local pub grub was very good. Roughham church can be seen illuminated near by. The quiet is so noticeable. We stayed for two nights and were very comfortable.

Probably the best B&B I have ever had the pleasure

Posted 17-May-2017
Pros: I loved the location, the beautiful countryside and the peace.
Cons: A warning that there is no signage (for good reason) on the building
Location: Choice of several places to eat within 10 minutes.
Absolutely perfect. From the welcome tea and home made cake to the spotless room. Even directions to the pub for dinner that we could take with us.

Go stay at this lovely B&B!

Posted 21-Apr-2017 on Hotels
This is a beautiful barn converted to a very comfortable home in peaceful countryside. Tracy is very hospitable and has provided lots of extras such as folders with local walks and local eateries, dvd's to borrow, cake and tea on arrival. The bedroom is large, the bed very comfortable and there is a sitting room with books, games and lots to look at. The breakfast is delicious. We will definitely return.

Short stay.

Posted 08-Apr-2017
Pros: Everything! The hosts have got it just right and really could not be improved upon.
Cons: Nothing - really!
Location: Lovely quiet location in the country. I did not tour as my visit was for a reunion.
Although my stay was for only two nights, I found Oak Farm Barn truly excellent. My host for the duration was Tracy who made me feel really at home. Nothing was too much - not that I needed to ask for much as everything was to hand. The rooms were well furnished and breakfast was amazing. I would recommend staying there without hesitation.

Takes Bed & Breakfast to a new level

Posted 23-Mar-2017
An exceptional Bed & Breakfast in a peaceful rural location. On arrival a warm greeting from the owner who showed us to our well appointed sleeping accommodation and the large residents lounge. During our stay the owner ensured that we maximised our visit by offering suggestions for restaurants, places to visit and most importantly the best way to get there! All in a very positive experience
