Noisy hotel with super thin walls. Doors banging ever 2 mins. Got very little sleep.

An interesting building with spacious rooms, but grounds and garden are sadly only a pale shadow of their former state.

Poor not going again.

The hotel was TIRED, needs a revamp quickly to keep 4 stars, plumbing is old, unreliable, noisy. The décor is old, the dining room is old, its carpet almost threadbare. A huge disappointment, having stayed in a number of 4 stars, this was not up to scratch. HOWEVER this is NOT a moan about staff they were friendly and great, doing agood job in difficult conditions.

Appalling

From the moment we entered the drive it was obvious the hotel was run down. The reception was worn and old. The room was dark and dingy. The view was of unkempt shrubs surrounded by rubbish empty coke cans and even a fork. The bathroom was from the 1980's. The central heating pipes clicked and banged during the night. We went to the bar, chairs were stained, the floor covered crumbs and remains of food. After 10 minutes we had to ask at reception to get any service. A further 5 minutes before the receptionist came to take our order. Coffee arrived and she then had to go to the kitchen for milk. The comment on checkout was 'we are refurbishing'.
