Friendly Staff & Pleasant Stay

Posted 02-Nov-2015
The star rating for some reason would not allow me to choose. But if it was working correctly I would have chosen a 3.5. My stay at Rory & Ryan Inn started off a bit confusing because I thought my reservation was with the Best Western not 100ft down the road from the inn. It just happens to be that they relatively have the same name and are owned by the same people. All in all the staff were super nice, got me straightened out and into a room. The room was clean, had a tv, free wifi, mini fridge and microwave. It was a normal standard room. The air conditioning unit was a bit noisy but nothing that kept me awake. From 6am-9am the inn provided free continental breakfast and an option to make waffles. Overall my stay was pleasant and I would stay there again.

Windows open-Dead animal smell

Room smelles awful, I was given room spray and told the hunters who typically stay there are just smelly ( ridiculous answer! I mean it was IN the carpet and drapes, horrendous, not lobby or hallway, just my room , maybe others , not sure), breakfast was good and location was good for being on highway 20. Entire town is "just passing thrU" kinda middle of nowhere

The hotel and room had a unpleasant odor, but it seemed clean.

Lidt over gennemsnittet.

Super fint hotel. Lidt bedre end gennemsnits hoteller på det prisniveau. Byen/området er der ikke meget at sige om. Ser lidt kedeligt ud. Men vi var blot på gennem kørsel. Så måske er der mere at se på.

Nice and clean. Nothing special about the staff, they were business-like. Don't go here if your heart is set on a great tv. Breakfast had real waffles from waffle mix. Hard boiled eggs. Cereal, toast muffins coffee yogurt etc. it was ok. Did not try wifi. Small city but several other motels. Great little rock shop in town a couple of blocks away! Seeya!

Staff was wonderful and helpful. We arrived late after a long day of traveling g and was pleasantly surprised to find the pool area open 24 hrs. Breakfast was good. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice room, spacious and comfy for the two of us. Wish the breakfast had a few more hot options - but what they had was good

Great stay! Good for the price, clean, extremely friendly front desk person, decent breakfast, quiet hotel. Will definitely stay here again when traveling this way!

Nice but a little dirty

Posted 02-Sep-2015 on Hotels
Overall, my wife and I had a positive stay. R&R has great curb appeal, friendly staff, and positive ambiance. I give it extra credit just for existing in someplace as remote as Burns, OR. With the dilapidated state of the other motels in the area, R&R is your only reasonable choice. Our room was large and comfortable. They provided plenty of thick fluffy towels, microwave and refrigerator, and quality soap and shampoo. The breakfast bar was above average for an rural independent facility. Our main complaint was room cleanliness. It wasn't like you walked in and immediately felt compelled to leave, but it was dirty nonetheless. In the bathroom, there were a few head hairs in the tub, a used bar of soap, and lots of black water droplets. And while the floor looked clean, dirt was packed in every corner. We wiped down common surfaces (light switches, handles, etc.) with Lysol wipes. The results weren't "disgusting" but still "yucky." Lastly, the beds weren't worn out, just uncomfortable to us (maybe not you). They appeared to be the older basic coil style design that left us stiff and sore. // I don't dislike R&R - I'd stay there again. They exceeded my expectations considering the remoteness of the area. But there is no excuse for dirtiness - remoteness has nothing to do with it - that is something the proprietor has complete control over and can easily fix.
