Hotel Champlain Burlington, Curio Collection by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"It was a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The mall shopping area was 10 minutes walk which was great. We ate at the restaurant which was ok but both my husband and daughter had a reaction after having the lobster agnolotti for dinner. That was disappointing and service was ok. I would not recommend eating there. You will find better food at a lower cost elsewhere. "
"A fun discovery! We usually stay at a different hotel on Dorset strett. We gave Green Mountain Suites a try, and I'm glad I found it. It's typically out of our price range, but we got a decent deal. The decor feels like Vermont, which we really enjoyed. The gas fireplace in the room was a treat as well. If you can get a deal, it's worth a try."
"First, the unit didn’t feel clean - we killed a spider and removed a web in the bathroom as soon as we arrived. While the unit might have been cleaned before our arrival, we believe it is in serious need of a ‘deep’ cleaning. The description says air conditioning but to be transparent the description should indicate A/C ‘units’ in the bedrooms. Even so they were hardly effective and super loud. The unit was stifling hot when we arrived and didn’t cool, especially in the main room, which we were planning to use as workspace. The decor in the living room was lacking, if nothing else one of the matching seating chairs in the picture had been replaced with an outdoor patio chair. Finally, the listing says newly renovated but we’re at a loss what was renovated. The unit felt old and had a mildew-y/old odor to us. "
"If you are coming in by train on the Ethan Allen Express it’s a literal 4 minute walk to the station. The place is also very close to all the shopping/restaurants/bars/coffee shops you could want and hiking/biking on the island line trail. And after all that you can come home and sit on the balcony with an angular view of the lake. "
