"We absolutely loved our stay here. The sauna was amazing and the bedrooms were quiet and comfortable. We especially loved the buffet breakfast and dining area. The welcome area has stocked drinks and wines you make make use of with an easy system to relay back what you have selected to add to your bill. Staff are amazing and extremely nice. "Convenient to get to Merode. Unfortunately we stayed the night there was a large group also staying and there was a lot of noise. We were also mostly unable to use the kitchen because the group that was staying kind of took it over. Parking and access was a bit tricky, as another guest had parked in two spots, so we had to find a place a few blocks away. The keypad for the door was a bit sensitive. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable."

They don´t speak other than germany and we did not manage to get anybody answering the phone. "There was a brown insect crawling over my wife’s face ant it wake her up. Upon closer inspection there’s were black spots all over my side on the bed’s sheet. It was just disfigusting."

"The hotel is in an excellent location for exploring Cologne. Check in was easy and the room was well proportioned and had everything we’d need. A de reasons it wasn’t a 5 star for us was the sheets were incredibly itchy. We both had a rash on our legs after night one and this continued during our stay. The room was quite dusty and the bathroom had marks all over the tiles of old shampoo. On our first night, my husband got a beer from the bar. The server unloaded and re-loaded the dishwasher and wiped all the surfaces before paying us any attention, even though we were the only people there. I asked for an Aperol Spritz and she said they could only do beer. She told us to pay at the main desk and didn’t come over to take our payment for almost ten minutes. Pretty good overall, but these stood out to us. "

Really enjoyed our stay despite a couple of downsides: We needed a bed for a teenager, despite impressions from our booking that it might be a proper bed, it was a cot that was rolled in. incredibly long time to get hot water in bathroom, very wasteful. With all the restaurants in the hotel, it would be nice if there were a place just to get coffee in the AM. "
