Spend your days on the white sand beach sunbathing, or on the lake boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and every other waterfront sport you can think of. Tour the town and find the Chancellorsville Battlefield and Visitor Center, wineries, mini-golf, and Lake Anna State Park. Inside you'll find a bright, wooden interior simply filled with natural light that is a stunning sight to behold. The open floor plan promotes togetherness, so no conversation will be missed here. Gather everyone to have a movie night on the large TV, or just share stories and make memories. Prepare grand meals and lake picnic snacks in the spacious kitchen, equipped with stainless steel appliances. This gorgeous cabin boasts six beds, each comfortable and roomy bedroom with space for personal effects. The main bedroom has a lovely en suite bathroom with a double-sink vanity, a soaking tub, and a luxurious walk-in shower. Make memories in the game room where you'll find dozens of board games and puzzles, a foosball table, and a shuffleboard table. At the end of the day, roast marshmallows, tell ghost stories at the firepit, and watch the stars come out to dot the sky. THINGS TO KNOW For little guests, a crib and Pack N-Play are provided. I do want to point out that the back gate down by the lake. The latch is broken. Also, there are pictures of an umbrella on the deck, but unfortunately, it did not open. After contacting management, I was told the umbrella was not on amenity. Then why are there five pictures of the same umbrella on your website? 85 on the deck. It was too uncomfortable to sit out and enjoy the lake view. The remote for the TV in the living room I had to replace the batteries and it still didn’t engage any channels. ##### G M. Two large fenced in yards for the dogs to run. Lake time at the house was the highlight of the trip. Very little to do in the surrounding area in April (no minigolf, arcade, gold panning, or visitors center at the state park in the off season) so the house and lake activity was the entertainment. We were very thankful for great weather. There may be wildlife living in the ceiling of the bedroom over the primary bedroom so that caused some concern. The Vacasa listing through VRBO is confusing. Vacasa does not answer the VRBO chat in a timely manner (or ever) and the call hold time during non business hours is very long with Vacasa (we gave up). Paying two fees (Vacasa and VRBO) is definitely NOT necessary as VRBO just tells you to contact Vacasa so they do not provide customer support. Book directly through vacasa and save some money as there is no value in this set-up and you will not necessarily get the customer service, quality linens, or little extras most VRBO hosts provide compared to a rental agency. ##### Krista F. A couple of things need to be addressed by property management (dishwasher rack wheels broken, needs a garbage disposal or strainer for the sink, master bedroom fan loose/loud, sound system throughout the house with no instructions on use and the entry steps to the lake are unsafe) but overall very spacious home with great rec space in the basement. Really appreciated having a crib and a pack-n-play on premise. No highchair, so do bring your own if needed. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. The water toys (kayaks, paddler board, canoe, floats, beach toys) were great. Sound system and mini fridge in the boat house too. Kitchen was moderately well stocked (no measuring spoons) including a coffee grinder, nespresso machine, keurig machine and coffee maker (bring your own filters though). You are on the private side of the lake, so we used Boatsetter and a local gentleman delivered his boat to us at the dock just around the corner which the house owns a slip/access to, there are instructions in the book at the house to access this. We were able to pull the boat up directly to the dock at the house with some careful maneuvering but the lift at the house is blocked from renter use. ##### Sarah P. The house and property were very impressive upon arrival… the fenced yard was great for our dog, plenty of room for everyone, really comfortable beds, nice game room, bidets on every toilet, etc., but as we settled in, there were many things that could have used attention and been improved upon! The ice maker in the freezer did not work-had to buy ice all week. Others complained about the dishwasher-it was still not fixed. No wine glasses and not enough other glasses for our group- Had to buy them at the dollar store. The frying pans for eggs & whatnot were too small & destroyed- Good thing for the electric frying pan. Outdated sound systems throughout, but could have used instructions for use-we used our own Bluetooth speakers. Many remotes needed batteries and the kids couldn’t get the Wii to work in the bedroom. Needed extra pillows & found them in various places, but couldn’t find pillow cases. The boat house was so stuffed with blow-ups, we couldn’t access the sound system or refrig if we wanted to, but brought our own floats anyway. The house was a bit disorganized and could use some attention and organization! Especially enjoyed the beach around the corner at the slip/boat launch, as the water off the property was too low, warm, & stagnant. Appreciated the kayaks. The house is stocked with different board games as well as an overwhelming amount of audio equipment and steroes. In addition to the propane BBQ, there's a knock-off version of a komodo egg as well which was fun to play with. All toilets are equipped with Bidets which were pretty neat. The house itself was pretty clean and the beds were adequately comfortable. Also, the gas/propane range in the house was pretty nice as well. The crib was acceptably clean, although we did bring and use our own sheets. Cons: The dishwasher has to be angeled a certain way to make sure the door can clear the fridge. The hot tub seemed to have a broken filter so after a half hour or so it seemed like we were hanging out in a tub of dead skin. The kayaks were in decent condition, but the seats were broken so you kinda had to jimmy-rig them upright. There was also only 1 kayak paddle as far as I could tell, although there were other single oar paddles that could get the job done. The audio equipment was honestly overwhelming and we only ever figured out how to get FM radio to play through the system. Interestingly, there is a record player (not sure if they work) in nearly every room. The wifi can be spotty at times, but we were primarily there to unplug anyways ##### Jonathan L. What we appreciated: - Fenced in front yard and back yard for dogs - Lots of interior space for adult common area + kids/game common area - 3.5 bathrooms - Modern appliances - Deck area connected to kitchen and living common area is well laid out. - Fire pit area is well placed - Landscaping is well maintained - Deck area had a working water slide, life jackets, float tubes, kayaks and canoe - Very big lake to do water sports (like pontoon dragging tube); water was super warm (you're on the private side of the lake. no access to public side of the lake). What could use some work: - Wifi/internet access was slow, laggy - Dishwasher doesn't open all the way because the fridge is in the way - Can use more towels (we had 10 people) - Not as many things to do in immediate vicinity - Hot tub and shower could use TLC cleaning Overall, we were happy. Some things were out of their control, but VACASA sent great service providers & they us back on track - i.e. The HVAC air malfunctioned, but they got someone out there and got it fixed in 24 hours. The dryer malfunctioned, and they also got that fixed in 24 hours. The VACASA general number has generic info where people only read from the VACASA listing details. Only if you're persistent enough will they put you through to the regional area VACASA handler to get more specific help. Once we got to our regional person, then access to them was fairly easy (real people/numbers). ##### V F. The property was very clean! The location is great and the layout of the home is excellent for a larger group. However, there were several little things that collectively really put a damper on our family’s Thanksgiving vacation. 1\. The WIFI did not exist. Vacasa set up a HotSpot on Day 2 but the home has 5 smart TV’s and no cable with 10 guests. Not really a solution. 2\. You can not open the dishwasher. You have to shift but the fridge and the dishwasher to be able to open the dishwasher door. Even then you scrape across the the fridge. It’s a joke. 3\. 1 towel per guest and no laundry detergent. Really? 4\. The listing boasts a 2-story fireplace but there’s a sign on the hearth. “Please do not use the fireplace”. I’d suggest a gas insert so guests can enjoy the space. 5\. No wine glasses…bring your own I guess. 6\. Hairdryer doesn’t work so bring your own. 7\. Main floor bathroom - shower head is clogged so you have to hold on to the French shower head. The property has so much potential but the owners / management really should stay there for a few days to understand what the property needs. I hope this helps management fix real problems and helps future guests make informed decisions on where to spend their money to get the best value for their vacation. ##### julia and rodney b. Entertainment amenities are superb. Perfect for game nights, fishing, and watching sports in the large basement area. Dollar General & Food Lion are within a 10 minute drive. Kitchen needs some upgrades. Eating utensils are limited and two of the appliances (microwave/oven) were in need of repair. Water pressure is very low making dishwashing or taking a shower/bath difficult. Internet/cellular is spotty. As long as you can disconnect, you’ll be good. The house was close local eateries, grocery stores and breweries. However, there are a few things that I wish were included with the listing. The house does not include soundproofing between floors so my children’s early morning escapades would wake up the entire house. Furthermore, the lake water is much warmer than usual and was not as refreshing during a heat wave as would be expected. Other than those items, we loved the house. ##### Andrew M. Our family stayed for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The kids loved all of the games in the game room, the outdoor recreation like kayaks and canoe, the hot tub and the lake. We all enjoyed everything. The pass to access the HOAs beach and swim area was great. We spent two afternoons out there. The cabin is so beautiful inside and so much room for everyone. We want to retire in a house like this. All of the wood just makes it feel so cozy despite how big it is. We had good communication with guest services and they responded quickly to our questions.
