Basic accommodation for the not too fussy
The walls are very thin and unfortunately had new guests staying next door daily, who always felt the need to carry on with loud conversations, laughter, late at night. Television did not work in my room. Clean hotel though, spotless white sheets and towels, comfortable beds, great location. The building is in a courtyard, which makes a little bit of distance from the hustle and bustle of the main road. I would recommend for budget stay in the city, only for sleeping. (If fellow guests let it)

Good position. All in all a decent option. But I wonder how they got the 3 stars. They don't clean the room every day. The shower was slightly mouldy. The wifi unreliable. But honestly for me the only major defect was the noise, which was not coming from the street (the hotel is in an internal courtyard) but from people under my window who decided that 6am is a good time for a loud conversation, amplified by the boomy acoustics of the courtyard.

Weekend break in Budapest
Hotel basic but excellent vfm. Very convenient for public transport, near to main attractions, shops and eateries. Hotel set back from main road so traffic noise minimal. Hotel has kitchenette for guests with a kettle, fridge and microwave

Get’s the job done!
It get’s the job done.The room was clean and nice, but it wasn’t very cozy. No pictures on the walls or stuff like that and very sterile lighting. But, we weren’t there to spent time in the hotel, so for the purpose of sleeping, it was absolutely fine. The room isn’t soundproof (at all), but they do give you earplugs which we found kind of cute. For reference we only stayed one night, if we had a longer stay maybe we would have liked something a little more cozy.

Apartment was okay, shower was not in good condition and room location can be a bit noisy being behind reception. Hotel good location in Budapest, friendly staff. Would probably just book a room next time.

My stay was good. The hotel was very prompt in responding and assisted me. Though the stairs is a bit of a problem when having a big luggage, but they will assist you if they can. The only problem for me was the slow and no signal/weak wifi,

Free ear plugs
Quite near the Metro but hard to find, you could walk past it quite easily as I did. The entrance is through a black iron gateway with access via a buzzer. Could be better signage as I only just made out the name of the hotel through the gates on the far wall of the courtyard. The room I had was taken up with two single beds put together which did not leave much room either side, beware of bruising your ankles and shin bones. Storage space was ok. There was no fridge or air conditioning or hair dryer and the TV didn’t work until I had complained about it, although it was fixed quite quickly. The room was dark because of the other higher buildings surrounding the courtyard so I had to keep the light on most of the time with the curtains closed or I would be overlooked. There was no lift but then there were only two storeys to climb with luggage. There was a useful kitchen area for all to use equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle etc although the vending machine was out of service. It was hot in the room but to open the window meant noise from outside but they did provide free ear plugs and a fan. It rained some of the time I was there and because of a fault with the roof/guttering torrents of water fell from above, even when the rain had stopped which gave the impression it was raining when it wasn’t. I booked on the basis that there was a breakfast option at 5 euros extra but this didn’t exist.

Very nice room. Hotel is very close to a main road. This is good because you can get a bus or a taxi straight to the city center. Or you can take the 20 Minute walk there. Either way, perfect location! Friendly staff too! Will definitely be coming back.

Watch out, gate entrance code
The hotel is hidden far back in the recesses of a yard surrounded by shabby old tall apartment houses. You don't see the sign from the street unless you have seen it before and know where to look. Worst is that there is a locked gate. I was not informed that you need to press on # 8 on a code box in order to be let in. So it was my luck that somebody came out and opened the gate when I needed to enter.

Good location, basic but very clean.
The outside appearance of the hotel wasn't very welcoming but once inside it was very nice. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly and spoke good English. The hotel was located about a 20 minute walk to the centre so ideally situated. The rooms were basic but very clean and there were communal kitchen facilities with free tea and coffee available. You could also bring your own food as a fridge was available for residents. Improving the exterior of the hotel would greatly improve the overall rating.

The hotel was basic. I booked a hotel with breakfast, but breakfast was a voucher, which cost 5 Euros to a restaurant across the road. It was OK for a our stay in Budapest, but I would have been happier if there was more clarity on the booking especially regarding breakfast. The hotel was off street but not a good view.

Good for short stay
Esprit is a good place for a short stay and is near center of the city. The rooms are small, but well-suited for one making a short stop over or planning to explore and needing room for sleeping only. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.

This place is like a hostel.
They stuck me in a room that was like a hostel. The walls were super thin. Incredibly noisy, the hotel supplied ear plugs. The room had a single sized bed after I booked and paid for a king size. Expedia relocated me to a different hotel.

As our hotel was full we asked you to spend 1 night in that room, then we could offer you a different room. but you just left without spending the night. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Budget hotel for budget stay
The price is cheap and the cheap has its own reason. I booked a two bedrooms, and was confirmed they are two bedrooms. But actually when go to one bedroom, you must through the other so called bedroom. The so called bedroom actually is a living room. Staff are friendly. About 200 meters to a metro station, and 500 meters to a rail station. About 10 min walking distance to Danube river.

Gem of a hotel in a great location
Here's the best thing anyone can say about a hotel -- I would definitely stay here again. Great location, 8 min. walk to Keleti Train Station, 15 mins. down to the Danube, 2 min. walk to several public transports including Metro and Tram. Located on a busy street, BUT set well off it in the back so the room was nice and quiet. Best of all was the Staff -- the gentlemen who manned the Front Desk couldn't have been nicer, more helpful, or more friendly. The room was small, but clean, updated, and comfortable. Excellent free WiFi. A kitchen is there to use which helps budget conscious travelers like myself. Very, very pleased with Esprit Hotel.
