Beautiful Hotel well situated for sight seeing

Posted 04-May-2016
Pros: Beautiful building, good food and helpful staff.
Location: The hop on and off bus is outside the door and the very efficient metro is just few steps away.
We stayed here for four nights and the whole experience was fantastic from the time we arrived until it was time to leave. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and the hotel arranged for some beautiful cakes for our arrival with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate on the plate. - Nice touch! The room was wonderful and breakfast in the New York Café was a great experience. We ate in the hotel restaurant on just one occasion and the food and service were excellent, although the wine which very good was a little expensive. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Spectacular hotel

Posted 25-Apr-2016
Pros: Beautifully decorated communal areas, friendly and polite staff, well appointed room.
Cons: The tea/coffee maker that was promised in the room description was just a kettle - a proper coffee maker would have been nice!
Location: Local bars & restaurants are very lively - walk to Andrassy Street or to the river for more upmarket/romantic settings. Tourist bus stops outside.
First time in Budapest and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was lovely, and hotel not too far from the main tourist areas.

Good but could do better

Posted 20-Apr-2016
Disappointing bedroom after the splendour of the front lobby and dinning room. Most of the staff where excellent but some where not. The location of the hotel is not the best. Next time would choose a hotel with a river view.

Easy to find, well located

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Pros: Service
Cons: More creamers in the room (only supplied with 2 per day which meant we had to chose from a morning brew or night time coffee).
Location: Excellent, loads to do!
Complained that the water was not hot enough to have a shower or bath. Maintenance attended but on second night the temperature had not improved. Spoke to reception who immediately moved us to a different room in a different part of the hotel. Very accommodating staff.

Beautiful hotel in a great location

Posted 18-Apr-2016
Spent a couple of nights here early April. Our room didn't have a bath (which we thought it would), when we mentioned this to staff they changed us to a different room for free. Throughout the stay staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was lovely with live music (piano) on pretty much all the time. All areas were very clean and well maintained. The attached New York cafe was beautiful as well, but gets very busy. Overall I would definitely recommend it!

Not worth the money

Posted 15-Apr-2016
Pros: Location and beautiful building.
Cons: Cleaning staff needs improvement or at least understanding that we don't always want to be disturbed. I don't know if they get paid per room.
Location: Hop on and off bus is outside the door. Good restaurants and a large drug store near by. Lots of shops and easy to catch a taxi cab.
I'm giving the hotel a 2/5 because it was beautiful and the location was good. The main reception and concierge staff were excellent. The cleaning staff were awful. We checked into our room after traveling for 12 hours and very jet lagged. We had a do not disturb sign on our door. Two days in a row we were woken up by the cleaning staff wanting to clean our room still with the sign hanging on our door. We complained and it continued to happen. Our room was dirty, there were bobby pins with hair in them left on our bed side table and in the fridge someone had drank a bottle of wine and put it back in the room as well as pubic hair in the tub. The two restaurants were over rated and not worth the money. We found restaurants near by that were better quality and less money. We were in a very quiet room and the spa looked nice although we didn't use the facilities. It was easy to get picked up for tours in the area and the concierge called us reliable taxi cabs.

In the Heart of Pest

Posted 15-Apr-2016
Pros: The service was World Class lots of smiles any request is followed up with.
Cons: The bathtubs are very difficult for mobility impaired people to enter.
Location: It is located on the Edge of the Jewish quarter in the heart of Pest. It is close to great restaurants, cafe's and bars.
The hotel more than met my expectations, for a reasonable price. The breakfast was very good and service was the best that I have found in Europe.
