In the pictures the hotel and rooms look like nice place to stay, but at the moment of enter to the lobby most of the forniture and general view is old and in not too good shape. The carpet of the room was very old and with aspect of years of use, but the worse is the bathroom. The cleanness was very poor, the floor was sticky when we entered into it the tub had blac mould in some places. After taking the shower, the water was not flushing it self and we tried several times to release the lock of the floor to let the water go but it was stock.

7th time here
As per the previous reviews have stayed here by my count 6 or 7 times the last 9 years. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. The hotel has a fantastic location for getting around and is economical for those on a budget. There have been internal.renovations going on although there was no noise from it my complaint is the mattress in my room was appalling like a very soft water bed i had badback pain after sleeping on it both days. The night i moved on to amaterdam and slept on a good mattress i was good again. That mattress in that room really needs to be replaced for a firmer less worn out one. A shame as on my stays years earlier you always got a great nights sleep here. Maybe replace the mattress guys?

Really bad experience.
It is the worst thing I ever experienced. Do not booked. I checked in, saw the room, and was a construction site. Old and rusty room, get out there straight away and ask for a refund, but they said no! Hotel.com could not get me the refund after a few days of chasing them.

This hotel is in very bad condition. The room I was given had several stains of water infiltration and wallpaper was coming off. Did not manage to get a good night rest since the area is too noisy. Hotel guests were also very noisy walking in the corridors at all times of the night. Never again!

Although the hotel was nothing special from the outside, and they are currently undertaking renovation (I didn't see or hear anything), inside the hotel was fine, clean and tidy and staff very helpful. Also breakfast is from 6:30am weekdays and 7am weekends, useful if you need to catch the train (the station is just across the road).

When I arrived, I was told there had been an error on hotels.com and I would have to pay an additional €30. I was told this had all happened to a number of other guests. The people behind the desk were friendly, had I known the price was considerably higher than listed (almost double!) I would have just paid to stay somewhere nicer. The hotel itself was fine at the price listed on hotels.com, but nowhere near worth the price you actually end up paying.

Great Hotel With Nice Staff
The staff here are amazing...i dealt with 3 gentlemen here on their various work shifts and each was unfailingly polite,efficient and proffesional. I have stayed here 4 or 5 times on my 2 day short eurobreaks. Brussels is a great city to walk all day shopping eating and enjoying the historic buildings so after 15 miles walking you need a comfortable place to rest and this is it.Thank you guys!

Great option near Bruxelles-Midi/Sud
Convenient location near Brussels-Midi/Sud station. 20 minutes walk to Grand Place. Very friendly staff. Elevator was slow but room was clean and comfortable. Good bang for the buck. Wi-Fi was good, lots of plugs. Area is grubby - watch your belongings, stay on lit streets and stay aware and you will be fine. It's not as bad as people say. If you visit Brussels, read up on the areas to visit, and those to avoid. Felt totally safe in the hotel, they do a good job to keep things locked and lit. Would definitely stay again.

Basic, quirky but OK
Decent enough budget hotel. Ideally placed for Midi / Sud station. I don't understand having to walk through the lift to get to the stairs. Really bizarre. The place is a bit dated and could do with a freshen up. Staff are friendly and efficient - a big improvement since last time I stayed here.

It was an ok stay. Very convenient next to the train station. Way too loud though, everything is creaky and whenever anyone walks past your room you can hear it like they're trampling next to your ear. You can also hear every train come past the station, but that's to be expected if you're staying here. Room was in a good condition, spacy bathroom and clean.

There is a very very strong chemically sweet smell throughout the hotel corridors and in the room - the air was thick. We couldn’t breathe, we had to open the window and leave for a few hours before returning. The room was old and worn but was clean. The staff were really friendly - it’s just a shame about the air!!

Great people at the front desk. Very helpful. But, no shampoo in the shower. I had to go to a store to buy some. Hand soap does not count as shampoo.
