Wonderful boutique hotel in city centre
We had a great stay at this hotel. It is set right next to the canal and away from the road so it is very peaceful. Our room was on the first floor and was very spacious. The decor is in sympathy with the age of the building and our en-suite was well equipped with a whole range of lotions and potions available everyday.
The hotel has a small dining room which overlooks the canal, although they only serve breakfast there (which you confirm the night before). We didn't eat at the hotel as there are so many places nearby which are competitively priced.
All of the staff we dealt with were first rate and couldn't have been more helpful. On occasions we ordered tea and coffee which was bought to the room for us. There is a very comfortable lounge area just off the reception.
The hotel does have a co-owned restaurant nearby which we went to for one of our evening meals and like the hotel, it was superb.
