Fantastic hotel worthy of 5* status in all areas

Posted 28-Jan-2016
Pros: Everything. Particularly the ease of access to the centre of Bruges and the breakfast!
Cons: very little! Possibly have hash browns at breakfast for that true 'English' feel
Location: Centrally located and within 5-10 minutes walking distance of all the main tourist attractions.
Stopped here for a meticulously planned 30th birthday surprise for my wife and the hotel exceeded even my expectations despite all the research and comparison against those (few!) hotels higher up in the trip advisor chain. This was a fantastic grand, elegant hotel which is worthy of 5* status. Fantastically run, very friendly staff (both whilst there and in the lead up to our stay where they agreed to organise complimentary chocolates - thankyou!) and exceptionally maintained and clean. The deluxe rooms are DEFINETLY worth the extra money and we genuinely do not have a bad word to say about it. Fantastic attention to detail right down to the barman offering various types of milk when ran out in the room. Cannot recommend enough!!!

Staff very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. Lovely surroundings. We had the family room which was really well appointed. Lots of nice touches and old features throughout the hotel. Recommend this hotel.

Great location, superb hotel

Posted 17-Jan-2016
Pros: The room was very comfortable, the staff were very helpful & the location was perfect, a few steps away from the market square
Location: Great for exploring Bruges. The market square is 2 minutes away. The canal is less than 5 minutes away.
We have just returned from a fantastic stay. This is a beautiful hotel, our room was cosy, very comfortable bed and with a large modern bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful, bacon, eggs, cereal, fruit, toast, cold meat, cheeses - a feast every morning. We visited the bar every evening for a relaxed drink & nibbles. The staff were friendly & welcoming.

Nice hotel at the center

Posted 15-Jan-2016
We were not happy with the hotel's lacking restaurant and room service. Very poor snacks to accompany drinks at the bar. No lugggage carrieage service to and from the room at arrival and departure. Excellent concierge service with restaurant booking. Very strange hotel policy for demanding bathrobes to be returned to the reception after use, you were not even allowed to leave them in the room, otherwise you would be charged 50 euros!!!! Good breakfast buffet but no cakes or pastries. Bu

Excellent hotel very close to the centre

Posted 08-Jan-2016
Pros: The grand entrance and the fact that you are in the centre of Bruge so not a long walk to get anywhere.
Cons: Standard of the bed a reducing the noise from the air conditioning.
Location: Close to Christmas market and ice rink. Numerous museums and churches to explore, several of which are currently undergoing extensive restoration.
Check in very efficient, all details were there and room provided as expected. The lounge / bar area was comfortable and was very comfortable and staff attentive but not in your face. There was a good selection at breakfast and staff quick and efficient to bring you tea and coffee. The only slight deficiency was that the bed was a little on that it dipped where you each person slept. Despite being in the city centre making it easy to explore and find restaurants of an evening, the hotel is very quiet making it easy to relax. The added bonus was being able to leave your bags with reception on the final day meaning that you could have another day exploring without having to carry you bags as well. A very enjoyable short break.
