Nice hotel & great location

Posted 28-Aug-2016
Pros: Location, lovely room, friendly staff, well appointed
Cons: Nothing really, we enjoyed our stay
Location: So much to do, the whole place is soaked in history. Pick up a guide book and go exploring!
My new wife and I stayed here on our mini-moon for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Front desk staff were very kind and upgraded us to a suite, which was quite frankly spectacular! Room was well appointed, clean and spacious. Location was great, right in the heart of things and we were able to explore most of the mid & north parts of the city in the few days we were there. It's a 20+ minute walk from the station (stopping to take in some of the sites), which wasn't bad but it might be worth taking a taxi if you are carrying more than a shoulder bag. We didn't eat at the onsite restaurant during our time there, mainly due to the amount of choice on offer within a few minutes walk, but the food looked good. There was a music festival in the adjacent square for the first night we were there, which the staff were very apologetic about due to the noise, but honestly didn't bother us much and we enjoyed standing out there for a little while listening to some music on our way back from dinner. Top tip - if you like steak or if you are a meat eater head to a restaurant called "Int Nieuw Museum" which is about 10 minutes wander to the east of the hotel. The guide book I'd brought with us recommended it and we went there the first night. Both agreed it was hands down the best meal we'd ever had. We actually went there 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed in the city, it was that good. TLDR - Crown Plaza Brugge is definitely worth considering, we'll be heading back next year.

Bank Holiday Break

Posted 04-Jun-2016
Pros: Free Internet access was available throughout the hotel. Tea/coffee making facilities were available, together with a good sized fridge.
Cons: The breakfast is tasty but the serving area is a little cramped. A business friendly hotel; facilities for young children to play would be welcome.
Location: The location is five minutes walk from the town square. It is ideally placed to explore the city via foot, horse carriage or canal boat.
My wife, two-year old daughter and I arrived early on Saturday morning for a two-night stay with breakfast included. We were informed that our room was available for check-in, which was a welcome surprise. We were given a room with two double beds that overlooked the square, which enabled our daughter to watch the horse drawn carriages on their route around the town. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom contained a walk-in shower but lacked a bath. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the railway station, and a taxi would be a better option if arriving by train, as we did. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning to the hotel at a future date.
