Good with room for improvement
I've always been pleased with this Sofitel- the well appointed, cozy lobby, the attention to details, the staff who aim to please, lovely rugs and corridors with interesting modern art, and spacious rooms that look and feel appealing with clean lines. However, this go around, the room was very awkwardly laid-out. The TV obscured the beautiful mirror that was suck behind. The bed was so close to the closets that you could barely open the closet, and there was only enough room for one person to scoot along the side of the bed to get to the closet. That was absurd! There was a little step up to walk into the bathroom, which I tripped over several times. Only one of the double doors to the bathroom would stay open, so we were constantly trying to slither through half the doorway, as the other half would slam closed each time we opened it. What a pain! The towel rack and hook to hang lingerie or bathrobe were both directly behind the toilet. I decided not to risk having my things fall in the toilet.
I hope the problem was limited to that room, but given the price of staying at the Sofitel, I was terribly disappointed.
