Excellent Hotel

Posted 13-Sep-2017
Due to others who reviewed, we chose this hotel. Their reviews were right on! One of the few hotels with microwave and refrigerator in each room. Hotel is very clean. Located very close to subway and theaters. Food Emporium right next door was handy in keeping meal expenses down. All hotel employees were extremely helpful and willing to answer our many questions. We spent a week here as we did our sightseeing in NY. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Good Location for people who want to see Manhattan

If you want to be close to Times Square, this is a good hotel to stay in. Rooms are big enough and clean. Hotel Staff are friendly and the price is reasonable

Great hotel so close to Times Square

Posted 12-Sep-2017
This hotel was excellent. The staff was always friendly and the room was spotless. It was three blocks from Times Square, one block from the subway and right at the edge of the theatre district. My only complaint was when we were offered a free breakfast but were then told we had to listen to a Hilton honours presentation.

Great location but miserable reception staff

Posted 12-Sep-2017
Great hotel for basic requirements. Restaurant was closed for renovation that we weren't made aware of when booking and nothing was offered in acknowledgement of this inconvenience. Check in staff just basically said too bad, I found them abrubt to the point of being rude. Location of hotel was excellent and we walked everywhere. The bellman offered transport to JFK for us and it was the most terrifying ride of my life, the driver was crazy and we feel lucky to be alive. For all of his back streets and cutting in we still took 1.5 hours to get there as he wouldn't use a GPS to check the traffic, instead getting in traffic jam after traffic jam.

Central Location for NYC stay

Posted 12-Sep-2017
My wife chose this hotel for a short NYC stay in addition to visiting family. This is a lovely hotel in a central location for the city, great facilities, with a lovely comfortable bed. From our base we walked more or less everywhere, Central Park was a delight, as we enjoy our green spaces. Empire State Building at night was fabulous. 9/11 memorial & museum (we bused it to here) was superb, so poignant & so very sad, especially so a we flew home overnight on 9/10-9/11. Also had some time for shopping!! NYC does sleep but only between 4 & 6 am on a Sunday, but can't complain, an amazing city, well worth a repeat visit!!

New York is a big city and it was great seeing it once but I was very happy to get home and see the corn fields and trees.

Great central location!

Posted 09-Sep-2017
Location is perfect for a central hub in the city - minutes from Times Square, Broadway theatres, and other Midtown landmarks like Rockefeller Center. About a half hour walk to Central Park. Nice restaurants/cafes nearby and grocery shop right across the road. Staff were all very helpful and friendly - very accommodating on my last day when check out was at 12 but flight not until 9pm. They allowed me an extra hour, stored my case for the rest of the day and organised transport to the airport. Rooms are clean and spacious, free wifi, big comfy bed, TV, fridge in room which is handy but makes annoying noises through the night! Don't expect much of a view from your room (mine was the side of a building) not that it really matters as most of your time will be spent out exploring the city. Only downside is the bathroom could really do with updating - the fixed shower head on the wall isn't very practical for short people (I'm 5'2") as the angle of the water goes right over your head - I had to stand on my tiptoes to wash my hair. Water was cold or at best lukewarm, and the pressure wasn't great because the switch from the tap didn't pull up properly so there was water still coming out of that when the shower was on. Overall my experience was really good and would definitely recommend the hotel for a budget stay in the city - not luxurious but has all the amenities and great location which is worth it.

Lovely hotel close to all the main attractions

Posted 08-Sep-2017
We found the hotel very good and it's staff polite and very helpful. The rooftop bar and restaurant though wasn't as expected, not easily accessible and when we did it was loud and over crowded. We did however find lovely bars and restaurants close by.
