Superbly convenient to airport

Posted 19-Aug-2017
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Price
Location: N/A
It made all the difference having an airport shuttle 24/7 - although I do think the extra cost should be borne by the hotel as an amenity.

The photo and the realities

Posted 11-Aug-2017
First, there was the disappointment of having motel-styled accommodation after the allure of the manor house in the photo. Then there was the lighting in the wet-room that could not be switched off. -- Then, the pervasive smell of drains that the staff said they were not aware of, -- Then the room-move that didn't resolve that problem of drainage smell. The friendliness of staff and good dining compensated, but my problems returned after I checked out and found I had been overcharged: it took four days and numerous phone calls to get a refund.

Pros: Great environment
Stayed overnight whilst visiting Bristol. So pleased we stayed here rather than centre of Bristol. Lovely

Pros: The hotel itself was very pretty, breakfast was very good.
Cons: Have fans more fans available...
We were really looking forward to our stay at Winford Manor. We were able to check in early and get our bags into our room so we could go out and explore. We stayed here during a heat wave and I completely understand that hotels in the UK don't need to have air conditioners in their rooms because the heat is kind of unusual. However, it was HOT that day and our room was also very HOT. We immediately got in and opened the windows to cool our room down but it was pretty miserable. We called down to see if there was a fan or something and we were rudely told nothing else was available. We went down to the lobby and asked about seeing if there was a room on the bottom floor that we could switch to since it was cooler downstairs... again rudely told no. I understand if there was nothing available, but we didn't really feel like the front desk attendant cared at all. I get that there was nothing she could do, but apologize, maybe try to find a fan or something to give us some relief. Not only that, but the beds were hard as a rock. Worst night sleep of our entire trip...

Apologies if our responses were not as expected. We have bought more fans since this very hot day.

Lovely hotel

Posted 04-Jul-2017
Pros: It was a Manor House, which is the style of hotel we like.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: It was within walking distance from a couple of local pubs/eating establishments (if you want to venture out of the hotel)
We picked this hotel because it was local to visiting my Uncle who is unwell (we'd travelled from Yorkshire) We would definately stay again. After reading some reviews (after I'd booked!) I was a little apprehensive but could not fault anything. The room was, I'm guessing, one of the newly refurbished rooms. The towels were big & thick & the bed was comfy, which is all one should expect from a hotel room. The breakfast was plentiful & there was a good choice of cooked breakfast, All staff we came into contact with were polite & courteous.

Thank you very much Lynn. We are still refurbing rooms, it is an ongoing process. Hope to see you again.

Very good for Bristol airport.

Posted 03-Jun-2017
Pros: See above.
Cons: See above
The hotel fitted the bill for us. A quiet rural location with quick access to the airport and an efficient park and ride service. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant and there was also a bar meal option. The hotel gives the impression that it became run-down (and the outbuildings still are) but that it is being run up again. They had not received our booking via Expedia, possibly as a result of a computer problem when we booked earlier in the year. There was no problem.

Thank you Lawrie. We are indeed refurbing most of the hotel. Large parts of it will be finished in August 2017.

Very nice comfortable hotel. But I found it a little noisy at the front due to cars crunching on the gravel driveway during the night. I would try for a rear room next time.

Hi Cedric, Thank you for your comments. We will see what we can do about the gravel crunch.

Pleasant rural hotel convenient for airport

Posted 21-Apr-2017
Pros: See above
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Quiet rural setting, with ample grounds yet near Bristol and airport.
My disabled father and I spent the night before and after our holiday. We were upgraded to an accessible room on arrival, having only managed to secure one officially for the final night. Both rooms were very spacious and with excellent facilities. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good. Leaving the car was a very reasonable deal which included airport transfers. Impressed!
